The holiday home "Südstrand" (new building 2015/16) with its 75 sqm living space offers plenty of room for 2 guests (with a small surcharge up to max. 6 persons)
Fireplace, underfloor heating and sauna make the stay pleasant even on colder days. The furnishing of the house leaves nothing to be desired, whether dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, coffee maker, microwave or other electrical appliances, everything is available. A living room with smart TV invites you to linger. One bedroom with double bed and TV, insect screen, one bedroom with 2 single beds, insect screen, 1 alcove (2 sleeping places in a cosy corner in the living room); bathroom with shower and WC, a hairdryer is ready for you. A travel cot and high chair are available.
A rowing boat is ready for you at the jetty. Fishing, boat trips, swimming in the lake (sandy beach)!
In the large, fenced garden there is a charcoal grill and plenty of space for playing and relaxing.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home "Südstrand" is located on Lake Dümmer in Mecklenburg in a holiday home complex with approx. 50 houses. The complex is fenced in and secured by an electrically operated gate. The path from the house to the lake (bathing area with small sandy beach) is only 80m. There are also the boat and fishing jetties
There is a shop a few minutes' walk away (bakery products, the most important groceries), and the nearest supermarket is about 10 minutes away by car
Lake Dümmer: Approx. 5 km long and 0.5 to 1.5 km wide, excellent water quality. Beautiful cycling and hiking paths, nature shows itself with various water birds and primeval forest.
Schwerin Lake District
Many other lakes as well as old castles, palaces and manor houses can be found in this area and invite you to visit them. First and foremost are Schwerin Castle and Ludwigslust Castle. Willigrad Castle is now an exhibition centre for contemporary art
Numerous windmills and water mills are located in Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The most famous is certainly the grinding mill in Schwerin, where marble was worked near the castle. Today the mill is a museum.
Schwerin Castle, situated on an island in Lake Schwerin, is one of the most important buildings in Europe. The older buildings on the lake side house the castle museum on three floors. The Beletage, the former living and social rooms of the Grand Duchess, now houses art from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The Festeage houses, among other things, the Throne Room, the most important banqueting hall in the palace, and the Ancestors' Gallery. An architectural gem within the castle grounds is the Renaissance chapel, built in the 16th century as the first Protestant church in Mecklenburg.
The castle garden was laid out in the style of an English landscape garden. With its rare trees and shrubs, terraced grounds, orangery, grotto and lawns on the shore, and a view of Schwerin Lake, the largest lake in Mecklenburg, it invites visitors to linger.
Ludwigslust Palace is the centre of a baroque town complex that is still completely preserved today. Outstanding collections from the 18th century, including paintings, furniture, miniatures and gilded decorations made of Ludwigslust cardboard, a special kind of papier-mâché, reflect the heyday of the residence.
Wiligrad Palace is located 15km from the state capital Schwerin, directly on Lake Schwerin. Embedded in a beautiful landscape, it was built between 1896 and 1898. It is one of the youngest castles. Since 1990, the castle has been a place of art and culture. Since 1996, the "Museum of Artists - Sculpture Park Wiligrad Castle" has been established in the castle park.
The Schwerin Grinding Mill is a showcase for the processing of large natural stones using historical technology. The water mill was built around 1705. 1755 Conversion of the mill into a stone-cutting workshop. from 1845 to 1857, the grinding mill did the work for the reconstruction of Schwerin Castle. in 1985, the building was converted into an 18th century showroom as a branch of the Schwerin History Museum

Beautiful holiday home with a nice garden. Everything worked smoothly! The only thing that was really missing was a fly screen for the terrace door! Attention wasps! Unfortunately, the couch could not be converted into a sofa bed. Otherwise, everything was good!

vielen Dank für Ihre Bewertung. Es freut uns, dass für Sie alles reibungslos funktioniert hat im Ferienhaus Südstrand. Schade, dass Sie das Fliegennetz an der Terrassentür anscheinend nicht bemerkt haben. Unser Haus steht in der Natur, wo auch Bienen, Fliegen, Mücken oder sogar auch mal Hornissen unterwegs sein können. Wir lieben das und zum Glück gibt es an den Fenstern im Haus ja Fliegengitter.
Wie Sie richtig bemerkt haben ist das gemütliche Sofa im Wohnzimmer keine Schlafcouch. Das haben wir aber auch nie behauptet oder gar beworben. Im
Haus stehen ein Doppelbett, zwei Einzelbetten und ein Alkoven (neben dem Sofa) zum Schlafen zur Verfügung.
Schade, dass diese Punkte Sie anscheinend dazu bewegt haben, uns Punkte bei Ihrer Bewertung abzuziehen. Schade auch, dass Sie weder vor noch während Ihres Aufenthalts Kontakt zu uns aufgenommen haben. So hätten wir Ihnen gerne persönlich das Fliegennetz an der Terrassentür gezeigt oder Sie über die Schlafmöglichkeiten aufgeklärt.

House South Beach
The House Südstrand is located in a holiday village, which particularly presents many no-entry signs directly at the lake for access. The lake has very good water quality and is unfortunately only very limited in accessibility. The House Südstrand was quite acceptable in terms of furnishings, but the extreme heat during high temperatures was borderline, as the options for sun protection were limited. Shopping facilities are only accessible by car, about 15 km away. A restaurant near the holiday resort is sought in vain.

Als Verwaltung möchte ich Stellung nehmen zu der Bewertung von Frau W.
Frau W. und ihr Mann verbrachten 14 Tage im Ferienhaus Südstrand. Bei Ihrer Anreise wurden sie persönlich von mir begrüsst, da sie die Terrassentür nicht öffnen konnten und ich ihnen zeigte, dass diese ganz einfach mit dem Schlüssel aufgeschlossen werden kann. Daraufhin bedankten sich Frau und Herr W., die Stimmung war herzlich. Wie bei all meinen Gästen bemerkte ich noch einmal, dass sich Familie W. jederzeit telefonisch bei mir melden könnte bei Problemen oder Fragen. Dieser Anruf kam während des gesamten Aufenthalts nicht!
Zum Thema Verbotsschilder:
Es gibt im Feriendorf Schilder zu folgenden Themen:
- Hunde müssen an der Leine geführt werden -> ist bekannt, wenn man die Infos hier im Portal und die zugesandten Reiseinfos aufmerksam liest.
- Angeln am Badestrand verboten -> sollte selbstverständlich sein am Badestrand, ist es aber leider nicht, daher das Schild.
- Schrittgeschwindigkeit fahren -> auch das sollte selbstverständlich sein, ist es aber nicht.
- Badegäste von außerhalb müssen 3€ zahlen -> dies betrifft fremde Badegäste, die nicht im Feriendorf wohnen, damit der Badestrand nicht zu überlaufen ist.
Daraus ein Feriendorf mit besonders vielen Verbotsschildern zu machen, ist doch sehr übertrieben.
Warum Frau W. den Zugang zum See als sehr eingeschränkt empfindet, ist mir ein Rätsel. Der Fußweg vom Haus zum Strand dauert 1min. Bislang haben diesen noch alle unsere Gäste einwandfrei gefunden...
Zum Thema Hitze:
Auch bei uns sind Temperaturen um die 40 Grad, wie bei Anreise von Familie W., nicht normal. Das Ferienhaus Südstrand ist ein Holzhaus und Holz erwärmt sich. Sonnenschutz ist in dem Sinne vorhanden, dass die Fenster zugezogen werden können und auf der Terrasse ein großer, kippbarer Sonnenschirm steht. Aber ja... bei 40 Grad Außentemperatur wird es innen warm. Aber das Problem haben dann nicht nur die Holzhäuser. Zum Glück ließ die Temperatur während des Aufenthalts von Frau W. nach wenigen Tagen nach, so dass sie mit angenehmen 21 Grad im Haus den Urlaub verbringen konnte.
Einkaufsmöglichkeiten:
Wie hier im Portal beschrieben, liegen die nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten 5 - 10 min Autofahrt entfernt. 15km muss man wirklich nicht fahren, aber das hätte man sehen können, wenn man unsere Reiseinfos im Haus gelesen hätte. Der nächste Netto Markt ist im 7,5km entfernten Stralendorf, ein Bäcker befindet sich im Ort.
Auch zum Thema Restaurants findet man im Ferienhaus Südstrand eine breite Auswahl an Empfehlungen, aber auch hierfür muss man tatsächlich das Auto nutzen. Nichts anderes steht hier im Portal, auf unserer Internetseite und in den sozialen Medien, die Frau W. seid längerem verfolgt hat.
Warum Frau W. das Ferienhaus Südstrand und vor allem den ihr angebotenen aber von ihr nicht genutzten Service so schlecht bewertet hat, bleibt ihr Geheimnis. Ich denke, die vorherigen Bewertungen sprechen eine ganz andere Sprache!

Calm at the lake
And we really liked it. Exactly what we were looking for - a quiet little house by the lake, modernly furnished - cozy and perfect for our needs. The lake is right at the door - it should be mentioned that you are actually not allowed to take dogs into the water at the holiday resort beach. In the mornings or evenings, however, no one said anything - if your dog doesn't make a fuss, you can let him in for a quick cool down. At least it wasn't an issue for us. Definitely visit Schwerin - a very beautiful, elegant, and calm city with a very worth-seeing castle!

Hat alles reibungslos funktioniert! Das Einzige was wirklich gefehlt hat war ein Fliegengitter für die Terrassentür! Achtung Hornissen! Die Couch konnte man leider nicht zur Schlafcouch ausziehen.
Sonst war alles gut!
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden bestimmt bald wieder kommen.
Besucht auf jeden Fall Schwerin - eine sehr schöne, elegante und unaufgeregte Stadt mit sehr sehenswerten Schloss!
Die Gassirunden mit unserer Hündin direkt am Wasser und im angrenzenden Wald waren wunderschön.
Das dazugehörige Boot haben wir mehrmals genutzt und ein paar schöne Stunden auf dem See verbracht.
Die Anlage ist sehr ruhig gelegen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind nur mit Auto zu erreichen ca. 10 Minuten.
Wir haben die Unterkunft bereits weiterempfohlen und würden auch selbst wiederkommen.
Sehr zu empfehlen.
Der Garten ist komplett eingezäunt.
Wir haben das Boot mit Außenborder genutzt, was klasse war. Mein Mann war angeln und wir sind auch etwas umher gefahren. Wir würden jederzeit wieder nach Dümmer in das Ferienhaus Südstrand kommen.
Auch unser Hund hat sich wohlgefühlt.
Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen.
Direkt nach der Ankunft konnte der Urlaub beginnen. Angekommen und direkt wohlgefühlt. Das Haus ist einfach total liebevoll eingerichtet und super sauber. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche übrig. Der Kamin und die Sauna lassen einen einfach entspannen und rundet den Urlaub ab. Die Küche war komplett ausgestattet und es fehlte an nichts. Der Kontakt zur Vermietung war sehr einfach und total unkompliziert. Hunde sind herzlich willkommen. Von der Terrasse aus konnte man direkt auf den See schauen und es gab sehr schöne Wege um einen ausgiebigen Spaziergang zu machen. Herzlichen Dank für alles. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Wir haben die Bootstour auf dem Dümmer See sehr genossen.
Nur zu empfehlen….!
Als einziges hat uns ein kleiner Spielplatz für Kinder auf der Ferienanlage gefehlt, den man fußläufig erreichen kan. Im Ort, ca. 3 Km entfernt, gibt es aber einen schön angelegten Spielplatz.
Wenn überhaupt ein kleines Manko wäre, denn dass das Haus in dritter Reihe zum See ist
Was für eine schöne Überraschung.
Wir haben viele Ausflüge unternommen, da wir sehr zentral von der Unterkunft lagen:
Schwerin inclusive Weihnachtsmarkt und Schloss,
Lübeck
Hamburg
Aber auch viele Spaziergänge mit den Fellnasen um den See.
Wir waren mit 4 Erwachsenen und 3Fellnasen.
Die Ruhe ist unglaublich toll und die Menschen in dem Feriendorf sind sehr freundlich und offen. Der See ist wunderbar!
Bei Fragen kamen immer schnell Rückmeldungen vorab und im Haus lagen viele Informationen.
Mobil sollte man sein, ansonsten kann man es sich einfach nur gut gehen lassen und genießen.

Die Sauna war ein kleines Hilight.
Und der Service ist spitze. Selbst als dann mal die Heizung ausfiel war bis abends spät jemand erreichbar und hat sich gekümmert.

Die Gartenmöbel mussten wir erst von Spinnen säubern.
Die Sauna ist maximal für 2 Personen geeignet. Im Fußbereich wird sie nicht warm, man hat das Gefühl, dass die Tür nicht richtig schließt.
Ganz schlimm fanden wir, so uns das Wetter dazwischen kam, dass wir kein Fernsehsender bekamen. Ständig war kein Signal. Die Satellitenschüssel ist so niedrig ausgerichtet das ein Schuppen sowie eine Baumreihe den Empfang stört. Im Zeitalter der Technik könnte man einen Verstärker zwischen bauen oder auf das Dach des Hauses gehen. Wir haben bei Nachbarn nachgefragt ob es ein generelles Problem ist. Nein dort war alles in Ordnung.
Um auch etwas positives zusagen, das Haus selbst ist sehr schön.
Wir fahren sehr oft in den Urlaub, so dass wir uns ein Urteil bilden können.
Vermieter ist vor Ort erreichbar telefonisch und persönlich. Persönliche Begrüssung durch Vermieter erfolgt. Klären von Fragen vor Ort möglich. Bäcker ist in der Nähe der auch Sonntags geöffnet hat. Für grosse Einkäufe muss man allerdings etwas länger fahren. Freizeitangebote sind auch etwas weit entfernt. Zum Wasser hat man es nicht weit. Für Hunde aber verboten. An bestimmten Stellen aber dennoch möglich.
