Wonderful in all respects

The holiday home " Der reisende Stork" has earned the full 5 stars. The house is very well equipped and the landlords very, very friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. We enjoyed the delicious tomatoes and pepperoni from the garden and warmed ourselves on cooler evenings by the pellet stove. Unfortunately, the time in Alsace went by far too quickly and we definitely have to come back again. Many thanks to the Spitz family

Cosy holiday home and great hosts

We spent a week in this very clean and perfectly furnished holiday home. It is perfectly suited for trips by car to the Vosges and the surrounding very beautiful wine villages. But also cyclists and hikers will not be disappointed here
There is a small bakery in the village and the shopping facilities in the neighbouring village of Villé are very good. We would like to thank Nadine and Denis, who both speak very good German, for their hospitality.
We can only recommend this holiday home and will be happy to come back.

The perfect starting point for a holiday in Alsace

Very nice holiday home in a small Alsatian village in a quiet location. The house is fully equipped and very lovingly furnished. The landlady Nadine is very helpful and speaks very good German. Many sights can be reached quickly and easily by car from here. A small tip: Buy groceries in Offenburg at Kaufland or similar beforehand!

Great vacation home

The holiday home has a very good price-performance ratio with its 3 bedrooms. Everything is available in the kitchen, even an additional pad coffee machine and a soda maker. Very pleasant for several people are the 2 separate toilets. The accommodation is very tastefully and lovingly furnished. During a small morning walk, with a view of the Vosges, you can buy delicious croissants and brioches in a tiny shop. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend the accommodation without reservation.

Wonderful!

We spent 10 wonderful days in "Der Reisende Stork" the house is very modern, cosy and lovingly furnished and we felt very comfortable and at home.
The landlords, Nadine and Denis, are really very attentive and lovely hosts!

Top location, top accommodation

We spent a wonderful week here. The house is a dream. From the large rooms upstairs, you have magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. We came here for cycling. The possibilities are unlimited. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the mornings or evenings. Everything is very clean. Sleeping is wonderful. There is a large double bed and a slightly smaller French bed. Parking is available in front of the house. Nothing is missing. The accommodation is highly recommended, we will come back to Saint Maurice. For beer and wine lovers, by the way, a hidden gem: a small brewery right in Saint Maurice and an organic winegrower in Albé.

A highly recommended holiday cottage

We had a very nice vacation in the cozy and lovingly furnished holiday cottage. It is quietly located in a small village about 10 minutes by car from the wine route. A very good supermarket is 2 km away. The holiday house is comfortably equipped. We didn't miss anything, even as self-caterers in the kitchen. The very nice and helpful landlords live on the same property and are always available with help and advice. Both speak very good German. In the garden grow the tastiest tomatoes we have ever eaten. We were very happy about the warm welcome with a small gift and a bottle of homemade apple juice. We can highly recommend the cottage and would love to come back again.

Holiday Home for Feeling Good

We (parents + 2 children aged 15 and 16) spent our family vacation in Alsace this year. It was a very nice time and we felt very comfortable in the holiday home. The house has everything you need, and we did not miss anything, which is rare. Each of the children had their own room thanks to the 3 bedrooms. In the evenings, we often sat on the terrace and played games or cards. There was a TV, but we did not use it. The house is located directly on a street, but it is very lightly trafficked. Everything was very tidy, well-maintained, and clean. The landlords live right next door, are very nice, and you could contact them at any time with questions. As a welcome gift, we received a bottle of homemade apple juice! We took a few small bike tours, but there are few bike paths in the area, so you mostly have to ride on the road. By car, we visited the cities of Colmar, Strasbourg, Ribeauville, Selestat... - you can visit each city multiple times, there is a lot to see. An absolute highlight was the flower parade in Selestat, which always takes place on the 2nd weekend of August! All the surrounding towns are beautiful and worth seeing. Everywhere you discover enchanting and timeless corners... For a day, we went to Europa-Park Rust (about... We took a drive to Strasbourg (1 hour drive), which was a lot of fun. I also highly recommend the Alsace Museum in Schirmeck, a great museum with a lot of interesting information about the history of Alsace. There are many wineries everywhere. The nearest (huge) supermarket is about 3 km away in Ville. In this town, there is also a small market on Thursday evenings where you can try delicious local food and drinks. There are also several restaurants around, we can recommend "Le Sauloch", where the tarte flambée was maybe the most delicious. . . . ?
So, you won't get bored, there is a lot to see and discover!

Holidays in the Stork's Nest

We received a very friendly welcome in St. Maurice and were immediately greeted with a pretzel, a bottle of juice and a small gift. The holiday home corresponded exactly to our expectations: It is very tastefully furnished, spacious and equipped with everything you need in the modern kitchen. We were able to enjoy the pretty terrace in deck chairs in sunny weather. In a small shop in the village we could buy bread; there were also other groceries on offer. The village is very small, but nicely situated for all kinds of excursions to the beautiful surroundings (including Haut Koenigsbourg, Colmar, Sélestat). We enjoyed the week.

Beautiful summer vacation in Alsace

We spent our summer vacation at the "Traveling Stork". We were welcomed very kindly by the Spitz family with a bottle of apple juice from their own production. Mrs. Spitz speaks German very well. The holiday home is modernly furnished, extensively equipped, and very clean. The internet works perfectly. The location of the holiday home is perfect for trips both towards the Wine Route and into the Vosges. For people who prefer a quieter vacation spot, a stay at the "Traveling Stork" is highly recommended.

Great holidays!

The Stork's Nest is a very well-equipped holiday home; the owners, Nadine and Denis, are very helpful and friendly. We lacked nothing. There are many excursion possibilities: Haut Koenigsbourg Castle, Riquewihr, Abbey of St. Odilie, gingerbread in Gertwiller. A visit to the humanistic library in Selestat was very informative. Groceries can be obtained nearby (2 km) in a large supermarket.

Although we were only here for a few days, we saw a lot. We were lucky with the weather, whenever we wanted to explore Alsace, it was dry. We were very pleased with the good equipment and the beautiful ambiance of the lovingly furnished holiday home. A variety of excursion possibilities in the nearby and middle surrounding areas make the Storchennest the ideal location for exploring Alsace and the Vosges. For the younger ones, the leisure park Rust, just under an hour's drive away, also offers a lot of excitement and action. The landlords, the Spitz family, welcomed us very well with their friendly and loving manner. We felt completely comfortable. Thank you again to the Spitz family.

Always happy to do it again

We have now been to this beautiful "Storchennest" twice - once with friends and now with the family, each time for a weekend. We felt very comfortable both times. The house is equipped with a lot of love and craftsmanship, leaving nothing to be desired. The landlords are very nice, speak good German, and like to spoil their guests with homemade treats. St. Maurice is an ideal starting point for excursions. The Alsace Wine Route entices with its cozy half-timbered villages, the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle is a great experience, as is the birds of prey show in the neighboring Kintzheim. A completely different character is found in the landscape north of St. Maurice: driving through dark, lonely forests, for example, to Mont St. Odile - this is also highly recommended! We will definitely come back...

Beautiful, cozy holiday house in the heart of Alsace.

We have visited this beautiful house twice now. It is decorated with much love and is very well-equipped: from a hand mixer to a hairdryer and a washing machine, everything is there. We always had a toddler with us. The baby cot, high chair, and baby bathtub made our lives easier. The warm welcome with a homemade cake and homemade apple juice completes the feel-good atmosphere. The nearest supermarket is 5 minutes away. The short distances to Colmar, Strasbourg, Haut-Koenigsburg, and many more make this beautiful house the ideal location to explore Alsace. The Spitz family, the landlords, are very friendly and helpful, and with their loving nature, the holiday becomes perfect. Thank you for the wonderful time we always get to spend with you!!!

Sehr gemütliches, gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus

We stayed with our baby (crawling age) and friends for two weeks at the Travelling Stork and can highly recommend the cottage. Everything we needed was there. The whole house is new and tastefully furnished. The location is quiet, but you can quickly reach places for shopping, sightseeing, hiking, etc. There was a good amount of equipment available for the baby (chair, bed, bathtub, changing mat, stair gate). The stairs are steep and the kitchen-living room is tiled, so one has to be careful. However, this was not a problem for us. The landlords live next door and took care of us very friendly and were helpful with all questions. Both cars had plenty of space. We have already recommended the house to friends.

First-class accommodation / super nice landlords

We spent our short vacation this year at Nadine and Denis Spitz’s Stork's Nest. A beautiful week! The area around St. Maurice is stunning, charming small villages, the wine route, mountain roads, and wonderful views, tourist attractions but also pretty quiet places, all easy to reach. We arrived with our motorcycles, which is absolutely worth it: There are plenty of dreamlike motorcycle routes, even far from the tourist paths. St. Maurice is a gem with its old town and charming atmosphere. Maurice is equally suitable as a starting point for road bike and mountain bike tours. There are some easier routes on flat terrain, but as you head into the mountains, you will encounter more challenging terrain and should be a little prepared.

The small modern holiday home offers surprisingly ample space and has been very lovingly and tastefully furnished by the owners. An apartment to feel comfortable, everything was neat and clean. Nadine surprised us with homemade cake and vegetables from the garden, which was a great joy. We found everything we needed at the 'Traveling Stork.' A special request regarding the bedding was fulfilled very uncomplicatedly. I am hyperallergic to many substances, but I got along well with the cottage and the building materials used. It is worth mentioning that depending on the wind direction, traffic can be heard in the morning from the front bedroom (from the larger road below the village towards Chatenois); in the back rooms, we did not notice this. Nonetheless: we have spent many holidays in Alsace and can say that this is one of the better accommodations for a fair price and highly recommendable. We will gladly come back.

Very nice holiday accommodation!

Our vacation at the holiday home "The Traveling Stork" was wonderful. We lacked nothing in our domicile. The house is very modern and equipped with all comforts, so we felt very comfortable. The location of the house is convenient as larger tourist destinations like Freiburg or Strasbourg are easily accessible! The owners of the house - the Spitz couple - were very nice and helpful. They always gave us valuable travel tips and were there to help us with our problems! We can highly recommend the accommodation and would rent this house again on a return visit to Alsace.
