Description
The allergy-friendly, non-smoking flat is very suitable for couples and families and was completed in spring 2015. The fully equipped kitchen has a ceramic hob with oven, a fridge with 3-star compartment, dishwasher, kettle, espresso pot and toaster. The bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower. A bedroom with a double bed and a connecting room with a sofa bed (1.40 x 2 m) offer space for 2-4 people. Further equipment features: TV with USB connection, radio recorder with CD player, bookcase with city and hiking guides, tourist information and fiction, toys, games, high chair. When the weather is nice, an outdoor seating area invites you to linger. Our "flatmates" currently include two sheep and a cat. We offer seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables from our organic garden. If you are interested, you can also book art courses with us.

Location and surroundings of object
Our guest flat is located in the scenic Schönfelder Hochland, above the Elbe Valley on the outskirts of Dresden and not far from Saxon Switzerland. Enjoy the idyllic location in the landscape conservation area and the fantastic view of the beautiful surroundings. Orchards and forest characterise the hilly landscape between Pillnitz and Schönfeld. The neighbouring villages of Zaschendorf, Malschendorf and Reizendorf have retained their original character with their half-timbered houses and farms. Numerous bird species and game live in harmonious neighbourhood with cows, horses and sheep, ducks and chickens, which you can encounter not only in the surrounding area, but also right here in the village. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you!
From our farm you can go on beautiful hikes to Saxon Switzerland, but also leisurely tours through the Schönfeld highlands and over the Elbe slopes and vineyards. A varied landscape with beautiful views and romantic valleys awaits you. Of course, you can also reach most of the tourist attractions by bike. Bikes can be hired from the Pillnitz bike shop! If required, we can give you tips and information on beautiful hiking and excursion destinations.
You can spend varied holidays in Borsberg. The centre of the art and culture city of Dresden is only 30 minutes away by car. In 5 minutes (by car) you can reach Pillnitz Castle and from there you can take the steamer down the Elbe to Dresden or up the Elbe to Saxon Switzerland. The city centre, new and old town of Dresden can also be reached by bus and tram from Borsberg in about an hour. The bus stop is in the immediate vicinity of the accommodation.
The small village of Borsberg, situated below the mountain of the same name, belongs to the village of Schönfeld-Weißig and is located in the north-east of the Saxon state capital of Dresden above Dresden-Pillnitz. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1373. There is a historic triangulation column on the Borsberg hill, which was erected in 1865 for the European degree survey. Pillnitz Castle can be visited just 2 kilometres away. In the glass house of its baroque garden, the moated castle is home to the oldest and largest camellia in Europe north of the Alps, which is 200 years old.

Recommended holiday apartment
My wife and I chose this vacation rental for our short trip. Since we really wanted to go to Dresden and only had a small window of time for our holiday (not to mention the Corona pandemic), I researched and found this vacation rental, which turned out to be a perfect choice.
The landlords are very nice and friendly. The equipment of the vacation rental can be rated from normal to very good. Regarding cleanliness: absolutely TOP. Location of the vacation rental: idyllic. Private parking for holiday guests is provided, with a 15-20 minute drive to the heart of Dresden.
Conclusion: Highly recommended vacation rental.

We are two sculptors who run the Kunsthof Borsberg. During the summer months we offer sculpture courses for beginners and advanced students. Our studio is also located on the farm. Artists looking for a quiet place to work are welcome! The landscape invites you to draw and paint and the farm offers the opportunity to work as a sculptor. Our holiday flat can of course also be rented independently of the art.
