Description
Newly renovated holiday home for 4, persons, 76m2 living space. On a hill in the middle of the forest on a 7000 m2 plot. Sun all day
Super modern bright kitchen from which you can watch the moose. Wood stove for the cold days
Cosy living room, bathroom with shower, 2 bedrooms next to each other upstairs. New beds and mattresses. Mosquito nets on the bedroom windows.
Large furnished veranda. Porch. It is a good place to stay even in rainy weather. Garden furniture and barbecue
We have lovingly converted the granary on the property. In a historic alcove bed from 1847, older children or adults can find a place to sleep and a place to retreat.

Location and surroundings of object
The house is located off the sandy road to Salungen. Private road! No neighbours in sight.
To the house "Elchschule" it is 2 km by foot or by car. To the big lake Salungen you walk about 800 m on a dreamlike forest path. There is a bathing place with a sandy beach. Several small lonely lakes in the surrounding area. Fantastic nature with many berries and mushrooms.

All lakes in the area are very rich in fish. The "village" Salungen consists of 3 houses at 2 km distance
The nearest shop is the small village shop in Mangskog. Also open on Sundays!
Approx. 35 min. drive away
ARVIKA with good shopping facilities, museums and restaurants.
CHARLOTTENBERG with a huge shopping centre and the largest supermarket in Scandinavia.
Train connections to Oslo, Stockholm and Karlstad.

Our stroke of luck
Lucky coincidence no. 1: Katrin and Odd as landlords ... we have never felt so much like guests from the first minute as with these two.
Lucky coincidence no. 2: The location of this gem can hardly be topped.
Lucky coincidence no. 3: Even with small problems (even a hot water boiler has a limited life expectancy) they helped without complications, because they were not in Sweden at the time.
Lucky break no. 4: If you get lost or even break your arm tripping over rough terrain, you can rely on Katrin and Odd, who immediately know where to find the white house on the opposite shore and organise a rower to cross large areas of water with a rowing boat to rescue helpless female victims.
Lucky break No. 5: Katrin translates even the most complicated health diagnosis
still late in the evening at Folktandvården in Arvika.
They are perfect hosts in a soothing, refreshingly different way:

- A good conversation with those dear fellow human beings

Peace and quiet with everything you need
Every year we look for peace and quiet in the Swedish forest, and we have found it at the Elchstube
Situated in a beautiful clearing, with enough space to play and relax
The house is modern, cosy and practically furnished. We felt at home.
The landlords are very uncomplicated, dog and child friendly.
Dear Kati and Odd, we are already looking forward to the next time.

Beautiful Swedish house in dreamlike nature
We, 2 adults and a golden retriever, spent three wonderful and very relaxing weeks here in July/August 2018
The cottage is cosy and lovingly furnished. Nothing is missing. We enjoyed the solitude and the nature. Swimming in "our own" lake was especially fun for all of us in this hot Swedish summer 2018. Many thanks to Kati and Odd. We spent an unforgettable holiday in the beautiful Elchstube. Many greetings from Thomas, Susanne & Rudi

Beautiful Elchstube in a great secluded location
We spent two very hot but wonderful weeks in the Elchstube with our two sons. The lake is wonderful for swimming and birdwatching; the fishing successes unfortunately failed to materialise.
But the 15 km drive to the remote lake "Övern" is worth it: there we caught nice perch and trout, and saw a capercaillie on the way there.

Beautiful holiday
The Elchstube was furnished with great attention to detail by the lovely landlords, Katrin and Odd. Nothing is missing and you can practise your cooking skills in the modern fitted kitchen. Sit around the campfire in the evening and enjoy the beautiful nature and tranquillity. Coffee in the morning on or in front of the veranda in the sun starts the day well. If you are looking for peace and seclusion, the Elchstube is the perfect holiday home
