WELCOME TO YOUR RETREAT

Our charming, lovingly renovated village house is located right on the church square of a lively, small Catalan village – just a few kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. Here, real life pulses: in the morning the song of birds and cicadas, in the afternoon the clatter of boules, in the evening a glass of wine under the starry sky.
The house is tastefully and comfortably furnished. The garden will win you over – our guests speak of a “coup de foudre,” where they feel at home.

The house extends over 3 floors; on the street level there is a garage and the staircase leading upstairs. The living/dining room with sofa, as well as the kitchen and a guest WC, are on the garden level. From there, a total of 3 terraces and the 450 m² garden adjoin. The two bedrooms, each with a double bed, and the bathroom are on the top floor.

A house to feel good

The house is located in the middle of the village and yet very quiet. It has a pleasant atmosphere and an idyllic garden. Fresh baguette can be bought within walking distance.
The hosts provided us with many excursion recommendations. One can go to the sea, take trips to the mountains, and there are also interesting destinations in neighboring Spain. Optimal for art lovers and nature enthusiasts!
We really enjoyed it and would love to come back.

Village idyll in Villelongue dels Monts

A small French village house, right in the center, lovingly restored, with plenty of space for 4 people, a wild garden with a seating area for breakfast, and a rooftop terrace for sundowners! Within walking distance, there is a small restaurant where you can enjoy delicious meals under a huge plane tree. Nearby, there is a small shop that offers fresh baked goods every day. It is about 10 km to the sea by bike, mostly on bike paths. Beautiful excursion destinations in the nearby and distant surroundings are available.

Holidays in the holiday paradise

This holiday cottage with a beautifully landscaped garden in heavenly peace (for us city dwellers) was an absolute stroke of luck. After our arrival, we first went out for a big shopping trip and initially enjoyed the weather, the garden, the house... the very nice and good restaurant, Bodega le 66, 50m away (unfortunately closed after 1 week of vacation, before the season really starts) and happily visited the petanque facility on the outskirts of the village. The car could occasionally just take a vacation, because for a mere 1,- Euro per person, a bus to Perpignan and of course back again departs just around the corner from the little house. Furthermore, there are buses to Céret, Argelès sur Mer... and with transfers, surely even more options, which we did not use further. Villelongue dels Monts is rather unspectacular, but there is a small grocery market that has sensationally good croissants and baguettes... Late risers should make a reservation in advance.
Culturally, the area offers incredibly much... the Museum of Modern Art in Céret, the Dalí Museum in Figueras, but nature is also overwhelming as we could see on excursions in the Pyrenees and of course to the sea.
Villelongue is a very good starting point for all conceivable activities and we can wholeheartedly and with full conviction recommend this holiday accommodation.

Beautiful holiday home on the edge of the Pyrenees

Quiet and central location in the middle of the village. Idyllic backyard with a beautiful seating area, accessible directly from the kitchen. Shopping opportunities and a good restaurant in close proximity. We felt very comfortable and missed nothing.

Lovingly restored holiday home

This year we were able to spend our vacation again in the wonderfully restored village house of the Wiedemann-Grundmann family. The house offers everything one can expect from a holiday home: a good standard, plenty of space, a beautiful garden, and a lot of tranquility. The Mediterranean with its beaches is easily accessible, and the Pyrenees are practically at the doorstep. There is plenty of culture, a lot to see, a beautiful sea, and an exciting hinterland. The wine and food are just as one knows from France – classy. The people are friendly and always helpful. Not far from the house, one can eat nicely, and around the corner is a small supermarket with almost everything one needs.
The house is a gem with nice hosts who provided us with plenty of tips and advice. We are already looking forward to the next vacation in Villelongue with the Wiedemann-Grundmann family.

Beautiful idyllic house with a large garden

We spent a very nice week in spring in the house in Villelongue. The house is tastefully furnished and the kitchen is well equipped. The Mediterranean garden is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing day in the holiday home with many seating and lounging areas in the sun and in the cool shade. The balcony is also highly recommended for an evening drink and a view of the sunset behind the Pic du Canigou.
The holiday home is located in a quiet village at the foot of the Pyrenees. A small supermarket that has delicious croissants in the morning is only a few minutes' walk away. From the house, you can take wonderful trips to places like Collioure or Banyuls and swim on the local beaches. We also did some hikes in the forests of the Pyrenees from there. We will gladly come back.

"Our" French oasis

A spacious and optimally furnished townhouse with a Mediterranean garden that invites you to linger. There are many beautiful idyllic places on the property where you can relax.
During our 3-week stay, the house was an ideal starting point for our diverse activities (hiking, cycling, excursions to cities and the coast, beach visits, concerts, trips to Spain), to which we always enjoyed returning at the end of the day.
We also enjoyed exclusively enjoying the house and garden on "rest days", and in the evenings, you can dine in the village within walking distance.
(We are 2 adults without children and pets aged +/- 58 years.)

Idyllic holiday home in the South of France

Beautiful house with a wonderful garden to relax in and views of the Pyrenees. The house offers plenty of space and is located in a quiet village a short distance from the Mediterranean Sea.

Charming and spacious vacation residence.

Quiet, varied, everyone in the group/family will find their own space for relaxation here.

The house and garden offer plenty of space and lovely variety - pure peace and enjoyment.

One can start hiking directly from the village, passing a lively monastery into the Alberes - or from village to village.

The nearby surroundings offer everything that makes a quiet or active holiday.

At Easter 2021, we as a couple around 63 years old had a relaxed vacation once again- it was wonderful!

In previous years, we went to the same house with our child - it was always perfect for us.

We remain regular guests :)
