Our comfortably furnished holiday flat is quietly and centrally located in a sunny position approx. 100 m above Marktschellenberg with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The beautiful centre of Marktschellenberg is a 10-minute walk from the house.
The holiday flat is on the ground floor. As our house is built on a slope, the kitchen and the bathrooms do not have direct daylight, but there is a window in the kitchen and the main bathroom. The living/dining room and one of the bedrooms has direct access to the terrace.
Our house is accessible via a staircase.

Location and surroundings of object
Marktschellenberg and the nearest bus stop are about a 10-minute walk away. The Mozart city of Salzburg and Berchtesgaden are both only 15 km away. Marktschellenberg - a dreamy, idyllically situated mountain village that has retained its charm to this day. Families and individualists in particular seek recreation here. Marktschellenberg owes its origins to two white treasures - marble and salt. Refreshment is promised by the heated outdoor pool and a Kneipp facility.
Hikers, mountaineers and adventurers can expect a great range of activities here, such as the newly created and well-signposted Nordic walking trail.
Also new is the via ferrata on the Untersberg, the " Hochthronsteig", which leads through the steep, approx. 400 metre high east face of the Berchtesgadener Hochthron. Germany's largest accessible ice cave in the Untersberg and the wildly romantic gorge are also attractions that are hard to beat for beauty.
At the entrance to the Almbachklamm gorge is Germany's last ball mill, where marbles are made from Untersberg marble, making Marktschellenberg famous far beyond its borders.
The late Baroque pilgrimage church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary on the Ettenberg, built in 1724/25 by the Berchtesgaden prince-provost Julius Heinrich von Rehlingen, is a special attraction.
Lively customs can be found at folklore evenings, stand-up concerts and at the many events in the village.
The proximity to the Mozart city of Salzburg (10 km), with its world-famous sights and extensive cultural offerings, also ensures a varied holiday.

Beautiful holiday apartment in a fantastic environment
Very beautiful and peaceful area. Lots to see (Berchtesgaden, Königsee, Bad Reichenhall, Salzburg, Salzkammergut, locations of the filming of Sound of Music, Salzburg Zoo, boating on Wolfgangsee, Fairy Tale Forest in Bischofswiesen, Fortress Hohensalzburg, etc). Spacious apartment with everything you need (no freezer). Friendly owner.

Even more beautiful than hoped for!
Our holiday in Marktschellenberg was fantastic. The photos on the internet already promised a lot, but the reality was even more beautiful. A magnificent view of beautiful meadows, along with goats, sheep and, above all, many golden eagles. The covered terrace made even stormy summer evenings into breathtaking, unforgettable holiday moments. The large apartment (with internet and flat screen) is highly recommendable in every respect. The surroundings are simply dreamy. Far too much to see for just one holiday. We will definitely come back!
