Location and surroundings of object

Our house is situated in a quiet but central location, directly at the vineyards. Ideal for hiking, Nordic walking, jogging or just going for a walk. The vineyards start only a few metres from the front door and you are therefore immediately in nature. The flat is located at the foot of the Rochusberg, where an educational wine trail begins nearby to familiarise you with the grape varieties and the work in the vineyard. In a few minutes you are at the Rochus Chapel. After a few minutes of contemplation, you will enjoy the beautiful views of the Rhine. Even Johann Wolfgang von Goethe took walks here during his visits to Stefan George in Bingen and was inspired to write his works. By bike, you can quickly reach the various signposted cycle paths. You can easily reach both the Nahe and the Rhine cycle paths. Hiking maps as well as cycling maps are available in the flat. Excursions by boat can be booked at any time along the Rhine at the boat landing stages. Timetables are available or your hosts will be happy to help you with advice and assistance. We especially recommend a combined boat and cable car ticket. This takes you from Bingen to Rüdesheim by boat. There you can walk through the famous Drosselgasse to the valley station of the cable car. You then take the cable car to the Niederwald Monument, also called Germania. From there, you first enjoy the wonderful view of the Rhine, the Bingen Loch and the surrounding area. Then you walk to the mountain station of another chairlift. There you can either get on or walk down the mountain to Assmannshausen. After a stop for a good glass of red wine in this beautiful town, you then return to your starting point by boat. A wonderful day trip that should not be missed. We have put together these pages so that Bingen does not remain a stranger to you for long and so that you can find your way around easily and quickly. Bingen is diversity: a modern town at the confluence of the Nahe and Rhine rivers. The town's history goes back to the Romans. A wine trading town from time immemorial, Bingen combines cosmopolitanism and joie de vivre to create its very own character. Bingen is surrounded by varied landscapes with natural beauty, castles and sights.

Bingen is an ideal starting point for excursions in all directions. Within a 1-hour drive there are destinations galore, which are also easy to reach by train. To the northwest, the Rhine valley opens up for you, the valley of the Loreley. There are many castles, palaces and museums along the great river to Koblenz at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle. To the south, Worms, Speyer and the Palatinate are close by. To the east, Mainz, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt, to the west the spas of Bad Kreuznach, Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg and Bad Sobernheim and the gemstone town of Idar-Oberstein. Varied landscapes open up around the city. Rheinhessen, the Hunsrück between the Nahe and Moselle rivers and the Rheingau on the right bank of the Rhine all offer a variety of destinations.
