This cosy holiday home in Germany's smallest town Arnis is stylish and modern.
This house offers the very best in grinding holidays and scores points not only for its unique location on this romantic peninsula, but also for its large waterfront property with its own jetty, bathing ladder and canoe.
The 110 sqm old captain's house offers space for 4 (5th and 6th pers. possible on request) spread over two floors. On the ground floor you will find the open-plan kitchen/living room with transition to the dining area, which invites you to spend romantic hours by a cosy fireplace. The living room offers two cosy sofas, and state-of-the-art technology such as flat-screen TV, DVD, free Wi-Fi and Dolby Surround System provide entertainment when the weather outside is less inviting. On the ground floor you will also find the tasteful bathroom with large walk-in shower, double washbasin and separate toilet.
Upstairs you will find two bedrooms with high-quality box-spring beds, which can be set up separately or together in one room, as well as a beautiful second living room with a magnificent view of the Schlei and access to the small roof balcony.
The entire house has been lovingly and stylishly furnished in the Nordic, maritime ambience of the region; the DTV criteria for a 5-star house served as the basis. The house has real wood flooring, a dryer and a washing machine
A child/baby equipment consisting of travel cot, high chair, stair gate and toilet attachment can be provided free of charge on request.
The large, completely fenced garden borders directly on the shore of the Schlei and is only intersected by the footpath leading around Arnis. A jetty (up to 1m draft) belongs to the property, a canoe is available free of charge
Quiet hours on the relaxing armchair with good wine and a book on your own jetty are dreamlike.
Various terraces and cosy corners with garden furniture invite you to linger in the garden. The Finnish sauna is particularly inviting and is housed in a garden shed in the garden. Who wouldn't be tempted to jump straight into the Schlei after the sauna!

Location and surroundings of object
Our old captain's house is located in Langenstr. on this beautiful Schlei peninsula. It is about 500m to the Schleibad (bathing establishment), or you can jump directly into the water at the house's own jetty. Kappeln is 4 km away, the Baltic Sea beach in Weidefeld 8km. Germany's smallest town Arnis is a peninsula in Schleswig Holstein. The harbour or tourist town of Kappeln is only 3 km away. Shopping facilities, schools and doctors are in the immediate vicinity. Don't you dream of living in a beautiful place that is your daily inspiration? Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city? Fresh sea air and seagulls instead of exhaust fumes and construction noise? Living where the ZDF series "The Country Doctor" was filmed? Arnis, Germany's smallest town, formerly an island, was connected to the countryside in the 18th century and has enjoyed town rights since 1934.
It is idyllically situated on the Schlei, an arm of the Baltic Sea about 35 kilometres long. It can be reached in a maximum of 15 minutes by car. Essentially, today's peninsula, which has been inhabited since 1666, consists of a single street built up on both sides and lined with lime trees. The gardens behind the houses slope gently down to the water on both sides. The "Lange Straße" stretches almost the entire length of the town with its protected lime trees. The small, closely-knit houses, some of which are still half-timbered, are also characteristic of the town, and their porches, the so-called "Utluchten", are very attractive to visitors. Arnis derives its high recreational value above all from its quiet and idyllic location, the many water sports opportunities, the pastoral hiking/biking trails around the village and the surrounding countryside, and not least because of the family-friendly open-air bathing facility. The special "traffic concept" is also ideal, so that in the "entire town area (three streets)" Parking space is only available for residents. Cyclists and pedestrians can thus enjoy the picturesque little town in complete peace. Ideal also for families with children !
The Schlei is very popular with water sports enthusiasts:
Swimming, sailing, sail surfing, kayaking/ canoeing or rowing and of course fishing can be done here. A sailing club with marina and guest berths is within sight. You can moor your boat at the house's own jetty, the Schlei is approx. 80cm deep here.
For all hobby golfers and those who have always wanted to play golf, there is a special holiday highlight in the holiday home: With our "easyGolf card", you can use the great golf course of the Golfclub am Stenerberg (Rabenkirchen-Faulück) free of charge all year round and put your skills to the test!

Our vacation
Arnis and the surroundings are especially quiet at Christmas time. Here you can let your soul dangle. The "Old Captain's House" is very cozy, we have booked this house again for next Christmas.

A week off
The house is a dream. Lovingly furnished and nothing is missing. The large garden down to the boat dock is great. Sitting on the red chair, watching sailboats and ducks is totally relaxing. And enjoying this peace... it can't get any better. Thank you for a few wonderful holiday days.
