The log cabin is quietly situated at the edge of the forest in Neuenkirchen on a cul-de-sac. After about 900 meters, the "Schäferhof" with its approximately 700 heath sheep can be easily reached by bike or on foot. From May to October, the sheep are herded in from 5:30 p.m. On the half-timbered farm "Schroershof" in Neuenkirchen, the heathland tourism office is located. Also from May to October, every Monday from 6 p.m., "fried potato evening" with delicacies from the region. Neuenkirchen is centrally located in the triangle of cities Hamburg-Hanover-Bremen. The major amusement parks, such as Heidepark Soltau, Weltvogelpark Walsrode, Serengetipark Hodenhagen, Snowdome Bispingen, Soltau Therme, Outlet Center and much more are in the immediate vicinity. A free bus shuttle from July for the entire Lüneburg Heath. Carriage rides & guided hikes. In the town there are two supermarkets, doctors, pharmacy, bakery, ice cream parlor, restaurants, gas stations and hairdressers. The art association "Springhornhof" with its 39 artworks around Neuenkirchen is easy to explore by bicycle.
