For enquiries, please use our contact form on our website Thank you for stopping by! Your family Klauß! The name Zechlin (Szichalyn) comes from the Slavic and means place at two lakes. Of the three communities in the north of Rheinsberg that bear this name and were all incorporated into Rheinsberg in 2003, Flecken Zechlin is the largest and oldest. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1237, when the Ziester Cistercians built a would-be farm on the western shore of the lake. Flecken Zechlin lies just under 100 km northwest of Berlin and 13 km from the centre of Rheinsberg. Politically, it belongs to the federal state of Brandenburg. In terms of landscape, it lies in the south-western tip of the Mecklenburg Müritz lake district, in the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park. Amidst the extensive forests with ancient beech and oak trees, hikers will find more than a hundred clear lakes. The village spreads out picturesquely with winding lanes and little steps on the slopes of the Black Lake. The lake is part of the network of federal waterways and can therefore be reached by boat from Berlin as well as from the North Sea and Baltic Sea. Flecken Zechlin has been a popular excursion destination for Berliners since the beginning of the last century, which is why the railway line from Rheinsberg was even extended to Flecken in 1928. Nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts will find an ideal holiday destination here.
Our village offers its guests a number of beautiful guest rooms, from hotels to private accommodation. Two camping sites directly on the Grosser Zechliner See lake are very popular. There are cosy inns and cafés, a fishing lodge and a high-altitude restaurant with a magnificent view over the forest and lake landscape. There is a savings bank with an ATM, boat and bicycle rental, an Edeka market with a post office, a baker, a hairdresser and several small shops. There are several beautiful bathing spots with sandy beaches and sunbathing lawns at Grosser Zechliner See.

A very nice, well-maintained holiday flat with a great view from the terrace (or from the living room) over the lake and a very nice landlady who also sometimes fulfils "unusual" wishes. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back
The only minus point "is that there are only two hot plates...but we were still able to cook well (or eat delicious fish rolls)
