Spend the most beautiful days of the year with your family, your children or even as a couple in our new, clean, large and bright roof studio holiday flat in one of the most beautiful and not yet overcrowded holiday resorts on Lake Constance/Untersee!
Our approx. 95 m2 apartment on the upper floor of a house newly built in 2012 is cosy, spacious, very bright and clean, and can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. The location in the lively centre of the small holiday resort Gaienhofen leaves nothing to be desired: It is only approx. 150-200 metres to the lake with yacht jetty and ferry connections within the entire Lower Lake from Constance to Stein am Rhein, as well as the lakeside park with bathing beach, cafe and nature reserve. All amenities and necessities of daily life such as bakery, restaurants, shopping facilities, bus stop, pharmacy etc. are also very close by!
Furthermore, you live within easy walking distance of the former homes of Hermann Hesse and the famous Herrmann Hesse-Höri Museum as well as the home and studio of Otto Dix!

Near the flat there are:
Ice cream parlour/pizzeria, a bar, bus stop, bakery, pharmacy, restaurants, savings bank with ATM, a grammar school, a church with church tower, the local community centre, the Gaienhofen boarding school - in short: the perfect infrastructure right on the doorstep!
Within easy walking distance (150 - 400m) are:
The lake with shore facilities, ferry harbour and bathing beach (gravel, unsupervised, m), cafe directly on the water (fantastic view!), new playground, long jetty with ferry landing stage and an adjacent nature reserve, a supermarket with regional and national products, the post office, drinks market, doctors' surgeries (general and dental), the local culture and guest office.
Cultural attractions nearby:
Our flat is almost exactly equidistant between the two famous former homes of Hermann Hesse in Gaienhofen and the Herrmann Hesse-Höri Museum (convenient walking distance, about 200 m each).
Also nearby (about 3 km in the neighbouring village of Hemmenhofen) is the former home and studio of Otto Dix, which now houses the Dix Museum. Gaienhofen is a lively and culturally important holiday resort on the Höri peninsula at Lake Constance-Untersee, "diagonally opposite" the World Heritage island of Reichenau and just across the Swiss shore and the town of Steckborn. The place and the region are not as overcrowded and crowded as the "big" Lake Constance. In addition, Gaienhofen was the home of Herrmann Hesse and Otto Dix lived and painted in the neighbouring village, which is why the peninsula is known far beyond the region as the "artists' peninsula".
The macro-location is excellent: one is in a very pleasant central position and can easily make day trips to nearby Switzerland with many beautiful destinations such as Stein am Rhein (10 minutes), Schaffhausen with the Rhine Falls (30 minutes), Zurich (1 hour), the Alps (1.5 hours), destinations on the rest of Lake Constance such as Mainau, Reichenau, Meersburg, Überlingen, etc., as well as other nearby destinations such as the likewise nearby southern Black Forest and the volcanic landscape of the Hegau!

A processing fee of EUR 50.00 may be charged for this. Cancellation fees will then not be charged.

Additional spare beds:
Guest bed in a sleeping alcove for 2 more adults or 2 children in a slightly separate, darkenable part of the living room (Width: 140 cm). In the "large" bedroom, a baby or toddler up to a height of 110 cm can also sleep on a small sofa that can be used as a baby bed, together with the parents.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here from beginning to end.
