Quinta das Oliveiras is located in the small village of Mealha near Canelas in the municipality of Arouca, in the green north of Portugal. At about 500 meters altitude, you can enjoy a quiet, rural setting with wooded slopes, olive trees, and plenty of nature. Access is via an asphalted, little-used road. Free parking is available on the property.
You can reach the historic center of Arouca in about 15 minutes by car. There you will find restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, and other shopping opportunities. Various river beaches invite you to swim and relax; the nearest ones can be reached by car in about 15 minutes, depending on your destination.
The surroundings are suitable for hikes, excursions, and discovery tours through the Arouca Geopark. Excursion destinations include the Trilobite Museum in Canelas, the Passadiços do Paiva, and the 516 Arouca suspension bridge.
Your own car is recommended to explore the region flexibly. An airport transfer from Porto can be organized on request for an additional fee.
Would you like to discover the area in a relaxed way? On request, we offer excursions with our 8-seater minibus to the surrounding villages and the mountain landscape around Arouca. Excursion destination, date, and costs will be arranged with you personally in advance. An airport transfer from Porto is also possible by arrangement for an additional fee.

Olá and a warm welcome! I am George and I live with my partner Marilene at Quinta das Oliveiras in the mountains of Arouca. We enjoy life surrounded by nature, tend our garden, and produce olive oil from the olives of our own trees. We are happy to share this special place with our guests. Here you will find a personal, uncomplicated atmosphere with plenty of space for peace and relaxation. We are on site, help with questions, and are happy to give you tips for excursions in the area.
