This cottage guarantees a wonderful stay and VITAMIN SEA!
Recently renovated, very comfortable, clean, and equipped with all conveniences. You only need to bring your (swim)wear! In the single-story cottage you will find delightful beds. (A double bed or two separate single beds) There are soft towels available as well as beach towels and bathrobes. In the bathroom you will find soap, shower gel, toilet paper, mirror, hairdryer, and a (fixed) charger for electric toothbrushes.
Do you have laundry? Let us know and we will do a load for you! An ironing board/iron is also available on request. Bath towels are changed every 3 days.
In the kitchen, besides the usual amenities such as a dishwasher, you will also find an air fryer, a kettle, toaster, coffee maker, and a Senseo coffee machine.
In the living room there is a comfortable sofa and digital TV with Netflix and a radio with Bluetooth.
Books, games, drawing materials, and soft blankets complete the relaxation indoors!
But of course, everything is more fun outside! At the back, facing south, you have access to a (private) terrace with a view of the tennis court and the lighthouse. There is a small picnic table where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There are lounge chairs with footrests and a small table where you can keep your drink at hand and relax. If it gets too warm at the back, you can set up the parasols or sit in the cool shade at the front of the cottage. You can park your car for free right in front of the door on our own property.
The beach is a 200-meter walk, and the village is a few minutes further. At the beach, you can enjoy the terraces at the restaurants of the various beach pavilions, but the village is also very cozy. There are many nice shops and everything is available. There is a supermarket, fishmonger, nut shop, drugstore, and many lovely shops with clothing and trinkets. Good fish restaurants, Italian, Chinese, and much more! In June, July, and August there is a lively market twice a week.
If you like cycling and did not bring your own bike, you can easily rent one in the village and park it at the cottage. There are beautiful and many cycling routes that start directly from the cottage! The very lively cheese town Alkmaar (where the famous cheese market is every Friday in the summer months) and the picturesque artists’ village Bergen are close by bike, and a bit further are Schoorl, Groet, Castricum, and Wijk aan Zee, which are also recommended.
If you like walking, you will be in your element here because it starts right at the front door. Across the street, you can walk straight into the dunes and immediately be in a beautiful area where you can walk to the beach, forest, and further through the dunes. For some areas in the forest and dunes, you need a dune pass, which you can easily buy online or at a dune pass machine (located across the street). A day pass for the North Holland Dune Reserve costs €2 per person per day.
You can easily walk along the beach to Bergen (60 minutes) or to Castricum (75 minutes) and there too are nice beach pavilions for a drink or lunch before you continue (or walk back).
Of course, we wish everyone a sunny stay, but even on less sunny days or with cooler temperatures, it is wonderful to be here in Egmond aan Zee.
You may arrive with your head still full... and go home again with rosy cheeks, completely relaxed, and sand in your shoes and your hair!
