This cottage guarantees a wonderful stay and VITAMIN SEA!
Comfortable, clean, and recently renovated interior. You only need to bring your (swim)wear! In the ground-floor cottage you will find a lovely double bed, but if desired we can also make it into two single beds. You can also indicate whether you would like a double duvet or prefer 2 single ones. There are plenty of soft towels available, as well as beach towels and bathrobes. In the bathroom you will find soap, shower gel, toilet paper, (magnifying) mirror, hairdryer and a (fixed) charger for electric toothbrushes.
Do you suddenly have a lot of laundry? Let us know and we’ll do a load for you! An ironing board/iron is also available on request. Bath towels are changed regularly.
In the kitchen, in addition to the usual equipment such as a dishwasher, you will also find an air fryer, a milk frother, a kettle, a toaster, a coffee maker and a Senseo. In the living room you can relax wonderfully on the couch with your feet up on the poufs. There is a digital TV with Netflix and a radio with Bluetooth.
Books, games, drawing materials, and soft blankets complete the indoor relaxation!
But of course, everything is more fun outside! At the back, facing south, you have access to a (private) jetty with a view of the tennis court and the lighthouse. There is a small picnic table where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There are lounge chairs with footrests and a small table where you can keep your drink at hand and relax wonderfully. If it gets too hot at the back, you can put up the parasols or sit in the cool shade at the front of the cottage. You can park your car for free in front of the door on our own property.
The beach is a 200 meter walk, and the village is a few minutes further. It is wonderful to relax on the terraces and in the restaurants of the various beach pavilions on the beach, but the village is also very cozy. There are many nice shops and everything is available. There is a supermarket, fishmonger, nut shop, Kruidvat drugstore, and many nice shops with clothing and trinkets. Good restaurants, fish, Italian, Chinese, and much more! In the months of June, July, and August, there is a lively market twice a week.
If you like cycling and you have. If you don’t bring your own bicycle, you can easily rent one in the village and park it at the cottage. There are beautiful and numerous cycling routes that start directly from the cottage! The incredibly charming cheese city of Alkmaar (where the famous cheese market is held every Friday during the summer months) and the picturesque artists’ village of Bergen are close by bike, and a bit further away, Schoorl, Groet, Castricum, and Wijk aan Zee are also recommended. If you love hiking, you can indulge yourself here because it starts right at your doorstep. Across the street, you can walk straight into the dune area and immediately find yourself in a beautiful environment where you can walk to the beach, forest, and further through the dunes. For some areas in the forest and dunes, you need a dune pass, which you can easily buy online or at a dune pass machine (located here across the street). A day ticket for the North Holland Dune Reserve costs €2 per person per day.
You can easily walk along the beach to Bergen (60 minutes) or to Castricum (75 minutes) and there are also nice beach pavilions there for a drink or lunch before you continue (or return) your walk.
Of course, we wish everyone a sunny stay, but even on less sunny days or with cooler temperatures, it is wonderful to be here in Egmond aan Zee.
You may (still) arrive with your head full . . . and you go home again with rosy cheeks, completely relaxed and with sand in your shoes and your hair!
