The island of Žirje is the most remote and largest island of the Šibenik archipelago. Known as a fishing village and a rich angling area. The island was once covered with a dense oak forest full of acorns, hence the name. The population here is mainly engaged in the cultivation of grapes, olives and figs. The island of Žirje is an ideal place for a quiet holiday away from city noise. Sports enthusiasts and those seeking recreation can cycle and hike. Due to its distance from the mainland, but also because of the ferry connection with the mainland, Žirje is a desirable place for people who want to spend a quiet holiday and enjoy the benefits of summer.
