Our holiday home is located in Smaland, southern Sweden.
About 40 km northeast of Växjö you will find it
on an 8000 sqm property by the lake "Örken", which, with its 20 km length, connects the town of Braas and the village of Ramkvilla.
There is wonderful peace and quiet. A paradise for anglers and nature lovers who appreciate seclusion.
The area is a nature reserve with a rich animal and bird life as well as valuable flora. Landscape and nature invite you to relaxing and restorative experiences.
Solitary walks by the lake and on the forest paths, which disappear into the woods after just a few minutes, are an experience! Along the way, you can observe ospreys, deer, and with a bit of luck, even moose, and in autumn you can collect plenty of chanterelles, porcini, and slippery jack mushrooms.
The private bathing area is about 300m walk from the house.
Lake Örken is crystal clear and is excellent for swimming and fishing. The lake “Örken,” with a maximum depth of about 38 m and an average depth of about 7.4 m, has an area of about 23.4 km² and is an excellent fishing lake.
The northern part of the lake lies in Jönköping County and the southern part in Kronoberg County.
The lake is part of an extensive and fish-rich lake system with many secluded islands and bays.
Örken is a very good pike lake, but perch, zander, and eel are also well represented. A corresponding fishing license must be purchased in Ramkvilla. Cost per week and person 100 SKR . . about 10 euros.
There are 2 rowboats available. One rowboat is included in the rental price and each is well suited for fishing with a maximum of 3 . . better 2 people. You can also use a mobile Lowrance fish finder system.
Also optional are 2 eMountain bikes, with which you can perfectly explore the magnificent nature over a wide area. Cost 95 euros per bike and week.
An outboard motor can optionally be rented per boat. Cost 95 euros per week plus gasoline. A gas station (24h via card payment) can be found in Ramkvilla – canisters are available on site! Life jackets in various sizes are also available.
The holiday house itself is 190 m² and is suitable for a great vacation with up to 9 people. It is very well equipped and features German television, hi-fi, Wi-Fi, multimedia, dishwasher/washing machine and dryer.
The rooms are typically Swedish in style and extremely cozy.
The house is also absolutely suitable for winter.
Smaland itself is one of, if not the most beautiful,
regions of Sweden with many sights – as is the small and beautiful village of Ramkvilla (about 5km away).
The county town of Växjo is about 40 km (35 minutes by car) away and has approx. Metropolis of the Kronoberg region with 50,000 inhabitants. Several museums and the cathedral invite visitors. Thanks to the university, many young people live in this charming city, which is located in the middle of a lake district.
Not far from the centrally located train station are the museums, the district hospital, the pedestrian zone, and a cinema. The modern indoor swimming pool is also not far away. In the nearby area there is a commercial district with all kinds of craft businesses, car workshops, building supply stores, and supermarkets. Minimum rental period 1 week (Saturday to Saturday) . .

Families with children as well as anglers are very welcome as guests. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the house! Pets are only allowed by prior arrangement.
