DISCOVER ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN ON HOLIDAY
The architecture of the elongated building with its distinctive double gable roof is based on the topographical features and traditional forms and materials of the local surroundings. These have been architecturally reinterpreted with modern means. Thus, the roof and facade appear as a monolithic structure, completely smooth and as if cast from a single mold. The dark shingles respectfully reference the regional building tradition with slate in Upper Franconia.

EXCLUSIVE DESIGN IN OUR BIO. DESIGN. HOLIDAY HOME
The clear architectural language with a reduced selection of materials and colors transitions seamlessly into the interior design of the exclusive design apartments. The barrier-free holiday apartments, each 45 m² in size, are integrated on the ground floor. In extension to the building, the slope was terraced with large Jura limestone blocks in order to allow large floor-to-ceiling window fronts facing southwest with ground-level access to the spacious terrace area in front.

Healthy living is measurable! A bio holiday home or a bio hotel should only call itself healthy if this can also be proven by an indoor air measurement. Our healthy REFUGIUM. BETZENSTEIN was built using 100% building biology materials and shows excellent indoor air quality: The total of all volatile organic compounds (TVOC) is, at a measured 150 µg/m3, far below the guideline values of the Federal Environment Agency and the World Health Organization (WHO). HEALTHIER, ELECTROSMOG-FREE HOLIDAY
The health and well-being of our guests are close to our hearts, and of course, this includes restful sleep. Many hotels offer Wi-Fi/WLAN, but we consciously do without it to enable you to have an electrosmog-free holiday. Additionally, our health-friendly non-smoking apartments have shielded cables and a mains disconnection switch for protection against electrosmog. In addition, all metal components were grounded and a location without geopathic disturbance zones was chosen for your healthy sleeping area.

The refuge is located in a quiet area on the outskirts of Betzenstein, in the middle of the Franconian Switzerland Nature Park. Our aim is to handle the resources of nature with care. That is why our eco holiday home was built as a passive house using consistent ecological construction methods.
