Gimbsheim is located in beautiful Rheinhessen and is centrally situated. From here you can quickly reach a variety of excursion destinations.
Our tranquil Gimbsheim also has plenty to offer for a few days of relaxation.
At our winery, you can book a 4-hour traditional customs tour with bread roll, sausage & wine. From a small wine tasting to a large musical wine tasting, everything is possible. In our town you can go swimming, whether in the outdoor pool or in the Pfarrwiesensee bathing lake.
The proximity to the Rhine as well as the expansive nature with fields, meadows & vineyards makes it close to nature. You won't go hungry here either; Gimbsheim offers pizzerias such as Da Zio Pietro, the restaurant Bistrorante Incontro (link to Instagram), the ice cream parlor Eishorn, as well as the restaurant Zum Bagger – all of which are easily reachable on foot. For guests who would like to be close to nature, you can explore the Altrhein Experience Trail in our neighboring village of Eich or take a tour through the Hollow Way Paradise in another neighboring village, Alsheim.
Gimbsheim / Rheinhessen
In the neighboring village of Guntersblum, there is also a good selection of places to go out as well as shopping opportunities. A walk along the Wine Experience Trail, especially in September, brings you a little closer to viticulture. In the slightly wider surrounding area are the towns of Oppenheim & Nierstein, which are about a 10-minute drive away.
Oppenheim offers a beautiful small old town with the Katharinenkirche, which was built between the 13th and 15th centuries, a wine museum, as well as the St. Michaels Chapel with its associated ossuary.
Also worth seeing is the ruin of Landskron Castle, which can be easily reached on foot or by bicycle through the beautiful vineyards. A guided tour through the cellar labyrinth in Oppenheim is an exciting leisure activity.
Nierstein is very well known for the Roter Hang and the wines produced there. A hike or bike tour is also highly recommended here.
Apart from hikes, there are plenty of opportunities to relax. Ice cream parlors, restaurants, as well as small wine taverns such as Civitas are located there. There is, of course, also something in the wider area for people who want a bit more action...
How about the Holiday Park in Haßloch? It can be reached by car in just under an hour, as can the technology museums in Speyer & Sinsheim.

We have been offering guest rooms for many years; it is important to us that our guests feel comfortable and have a wonderful time with us. There is also no shortage of leisure activities – we offer traditional tours for groups of 10 or more, small wine tastings, and breakfast is possible by arrangement. There is much to discover in our region, and we are happy to give tips for possible activities.
