Eckernförde is located on the western Baltic Sea coast, just about 25 kilometers northwest of the Schleswig-Holstein state capital Kiel. The holiday apartment Südstrand in Eckernförde thus combines a beach holiday with all the amenities of a city.

The sandy beach stretches from Südstrand to the Baltic Sea Info Center. On a large part, a promenade has been created for walking in the fresh Baltic Sea air. At the northern end of the beach, the harbor adjoins. Here you can also enjoy a wonderful walk along moored sailboats and fishing cutters.

The old town of Eckernförde is the gastronomic center of the city. Here there are numerous restaurants and cafés. Some shops as well as the Speicherpassage offer the opportunity for a little shopping tour. Supermarkets are spread throughout the entire city area, so self-catering in the Südstrand holiday apartment is very easy. Thanks to a rail connection to Kiel, excursions to the state capital are also easily possible, as is arrival by train.
