Description
Surrounded by woods and meadows, the fairytale hut offers a marvellous view of the town and the castle. Enjoy the sunset between the trees as the day draws to a close around the campfire.
We have lovingly furnished the Märchenhütte in a romantic vintage style. Nostalgia is the order of the day here: grind the coffee, hum the kettle and fire up the stove - here you'll find the good old things without the plastic.
The hut has a cosy living area with a wood-burning stove to provide warmth and atmosphere on chilly evenings. Free Wi-Fi is also available to keep you entertained during your stay. The bunk room is equipped with comfortable mattresses and high-quality bed linen to ensure a restful night's sleep. A cot, changing mat and high chair are available for families with small children.
The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare your favourite dishes, which you can then enjoy at the dining table or outside on the terrace. A barbecue and a campfire pit are also available, ideal for summer evenings outdoors.
The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and an ecological dry separating toilet. Long-term rental is possible for longer stays. Please note that this is a non-smoking accommodation.
The cottage has a private car park and a beautiful fully fenced garden where you can relax and play. The surrounding countryside offers plenty of opportunities for walks, hikes and walks.

Location and surroundings of object
The Märchenhütte is located in the Lahn-Dill-Bergland and close to the city centre of the climatic health resort of Biedenkopf, but still in the middle of nature on the edge of the forest. The foothills of the Rothaargebirge are within sight. The Lahnwanderweg hiking trail, the Lahnhöhentour and countless other hiking trails are in the immediate vicinity. Various cycle paths (e.g. Rotary) run along the banks of the Lahn 500 metres away and mountain bikers will also get their money's worth. 30 minutes by car to Marburg or to the thermal baths with sauna and salt grotto in Bad Endbach.
The hut is easily accessible all year round via a single-lane tarmac road that is cleared in winter.

Great location with points of criticism
The description of the fairy tale cabin delivers what it promises. However, there are a few points that we did not like:
1. The fairy tale cabin is located on the opposite side of Biedenkopf, above the federal highway on a steep mountain. This means that traffic is clearly audible, the ascent is strenuous, and the path is not illuminated.
2. The fairy tale cabin is tastefully furnished in vintage style and very cozy. However, there are so many decorative items lying around in the kitchen and bathroom that there is hardly any space left for personal belongings. There is no storage space.
3. The closet in the bedroom is too small, there is no clothes rail.
4. The large dining table with 7 chairs takes up too much space.
5. The separating toilet is very unusual. A lid on the granulate container would be nice, as there is a certain smell coming from it. October is not recommended as a travel time, because the fairy tale hut is at the end of the property, surrounded by tall trees. The sun doesn't reach there at all, meaning it is shady and damp. All the beautiful seating areas around the hut cannot be used for this reason.

Zu den Kritikpunkten würde ich gerne folgendes anmerken:
zu 1: die Märchenhütte (350 üNN) liegt im Naturpark Lahn-Dill-Bergland auf den Ausläufern des Rothaarkamms, mit Anstiegen ist dort zu rechnen. Der sich dadurch ergebende Blick auf Biedenkopf mit seinem Schloß wird von unseren Gästen normalerweise sehr geschätzt, insbesondere am Abend oder im Winter. Der Weg ist ein Zubringer zum Waldparkplatz und zur Jagdhütte im Wald, die Stadt Biedenkopf wird hierfür keine Straßenbeleuchtung finanzieren wollen. Wir freuen uns aber, das die Müllabfuhr und die Schneeräumung den Weg zu uns findet.
zu 2: die Märchenhütte ist nicht groß und daher ist zwangsläufig alles etwas kleiner. In der Küche steht unter der Spüle ein Korb bereit zur Lagerung der Lebensmittel. Im Bad gibt es einen Spiegelschrank, der von den Gästen gern benutzt werden darf
zu 3.: der Schrank bei der Schlafkoje ist ein alter Bauernschrank, zugunsten von Stauraum wurde darin auf eine Kleiderstange verzichtet. An der Garderobe und an einem Wandhaken befinden sich etliche Kleiderbügel.
zu 4: der Esstisch bildet das Herz der Hütte. Da wir auch häufig bis zu 5 Gästen in der Hütte haben und unsere schöne Hütte auch selber gerne mit der Familie nutzen, ist ein größerer Tisch vonnöten. Das Gelände wird auch für Events genutzt, auch da brauchen wir oft einen größeren Tisch.
zu 5: wir haben uns für eine Trockentrenntoilette entschieden, weil es die nachhaltigste Variante für die Umwelt darstellt, da eine Waldhütte nicht an die öffentliche Kanalisation angeschlossen ist. Das Streu ist leicht parfümiert. Ein Deckel auf der Kiste ist natürlich machbar.
Der Oktober wird von unseren Gästen als Reisezeit normalerweise sehr geschätzt, da die Verfärbung der umliegenden Berghänge wunderschön ist (ähnlich wie der Indian Summer). Die Märchenhütte liegt in einem naturnahen Waldgarten mit hohen Douglasien, die aber bis in den November hinein besonders im vorderen Teil des Gartens die Sonne durchlassen. Mit den portablen Gartenmöbeln lässt sich immer ein Sonnenplätzchen finden.

great vacation for humans and dogs
I was a guest in the fairy hut with my dog for 1 week. Already upon arrival, we could switch to total relaxation. Just a dream location, exactly as described. The hut was super equipped for a forest hut! I missed nothing except for a freezer. And the fenced garden was great, for me to unwind and for my dog to explore. For a city person, the peace on site was simply overwhelming. We recovered better this week than at some vacation spots where we stayed for 2 or 3 weeks. The next stay there is already in planning. Greetings to the hosts, great cabin, great service, and great contact. Hope we will see each other again??

Fairy-tale standalone forest cabin
We had a wonderful getaway in the fairy tale cabin.
The town of Biedenkopf was easily accessible on foot, and the surrounding forest invited both small and large exploration tours.
The old hunting lodge was beautifully staged and offers everything you need.
And if something should not work (which was not the case for us!), the landlord is easily reachable. There is definitely enough water and electricity provided.

1. Die Märchenhütte liegt auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite von Biedenkopf, oberhalb der Bundesstraße an einem steilen Berg. D.h. der Verkehr ist gut hörbar, der Anstieg anstrengend und der Weg nicht beleuchtet.
2. Die Märchenhütte ist zwar geschmackvoll im Vintage-Stil eingerichtet und sehr gemütlich. Allerdings liegen und stehen in der Küche und im Bad so viele Dekogegenstände herum, dass kaum Platz für die eigenen Dinge übrig bleibt. Es gibt keinen Stauraum.
3. Der Schrank im Schlafraum ist zu klein, es gibt keine Kleidestange.
4. Der große Esstisch mit 7 Stühlen nimmt zuviel Platz ein.
5. Die Trenntoilette ist sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ein Deckel auf dem Granulatbehälter wäre schön, da doch ein gewisser Geruch davon ausgeht.
Oktober ist als Reisezeit nicht zu empfehlen, denn die Märchenhütte steht am Ende des Grundstückes, umrandet von hohen Bäumen. Die Sonne kommt dort gar nicht mehr hin, d.h. es ist schattig und feucht. All die schönen Sitzplätze um die Hütte können deshalb nicht genutzt werden.
Der Ort Biedenkopf war gut zu Fuß zu erreichen und der umliegenden Wald lud sehr zu kleineren und größeren Entdeckertouren ein.
Die alte Jagdhütte wurde sehr schön in Szene gesetzt und bietet alles, was man braucht.
Und wenn mal etwas nicht funktionieren sollte (was bei uns nicht der Fall war!), ist die Vermieterin gut zu erreichen. Für ausreichend Wasser und Strom ist auf jeden Fall gesorgt.
