We had a wonderful stay in the apartment in Calella de Palafrugell! The location is fantastic: just a few steps from the beach and surrounded by great restaurants like Mooma and Ristorante Mas Sorrer. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The garden area was a nice touch and perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. Our children loved the communal pool, and we appreciated the convenience of the supermarket just 50 meters away. Overall, a pleasant experience that we would gladly repeat!

The good points: great location close to the beaches in Calella; the setting of the apartment building is good - well maintained gardens with access to a good sized pool (note: there are no publicly available pool loungers so, in reality, the pool area is deserted for most of the day because there is nowhere to sunbath by the pool - other than beach towels on concrete). The apartment itself is on the 2nd floor of the building. It is accessed via a dirty, poorly lit staircase (visually impaired guests beware). The living space in the apartment is a good size opening onto a sizeable balcony (note the balcony is in shade - from the trees in the gardens - all day). The kitchen area is reasonably spacious and has the required basic cooking/eating equipment. Whilst we were there, the Nespresso coffee machine didn’t work properly. The kitchen itself is worn out and tired. Some of the doors/drawers did not shut properly. The bedrooms are small. The beds are cheap foam mattresses on top of the most basic metal frame bed bases. The bedrooms are on the side of the apartment which overlooks the road. This is important because the room get very warm during the day and night. There is no ventilation/cooling available other than open windows which creates problems for sleeping because the road outside is noisy until the early morning hours (take earplugs if you decide to stay here). The shower in the main bathroom is over the bath. The bottom of the shower curtain was mouldy! Also, the door to the main bathroom did not close properly - it appeared to be warped). There is a separate WC. Despite having two WC’s the “welcome pack” only contained one toilet roll!
