Description

The holiday apartment *Gehoeft-Nr-X-zu-Peccatel* was newly opened in May 2012 and completely renovated in spring 2025. It has a separate courtyard entrance with a secure parking space for 3 vehicles. You reach our holiday apartment via its own large fenced outdoor area, so that a dog can also romp around on the apartment’s own courtyard.

The holiday apartment is located in a Mecklenburg hall house built in 1836, which is roofed with thatch. We made sure during the renovation to reuse old materials and also to bring you a little closer to the history of the thatched Mecklenburg hall houses with the holiday apartment and the house. Our house is a listed building and can therefore be found on the district's list of monuments. With the proceeds, we primarily try to maintain the house and gradually continue to expand it, as well as to restore further areas to their original state in order to make them accessible to visitors.

Thus, with your booking, you are also contributing to the preservation of the monument, whereby we follow the principle that the prices are affordable for everyone. Details about the holiday apartment:

A very special accommodation in an old, listed thatched house on the edge of the Lewitz and only 5 km from the state capital Schwerin.

You reach the holiday apartment via a private driveway to the south side of the house.
The apartment is located in the hall house as well as an extension to the hall house. This apartment has its own entrance, through which you enter the spacious hallway with adjoining toilet. From the hallway you enter the living room with a beautiful dining area. From the living room you also reach the interior kitchen. The bathroom is accessed from the living room. It is equipped with a large walk-in shower that also has a tiled bench. From there you enter the large bedroom, which, in addition to the large box spring double bed with nightstands and a large wardrobe, also offers a sofa bed. In this holiday apartment, due to the building style, ceiling heights of under 2 m are present in some rooms. A washing machine is available.

Ideal for self-caterers:

The kitchen offers hotplates, a sink, and a refrigerator with freezer compartment. Furthermore, a coffee machine, toaster, and kettle are available.

For those who prefer to be cooked for, 1 restaurant and a snack bar in the village offer variety. Additionally, you can dine in a romantic Dutch windmill in the village of Banzkow, 2 km away.

Electricity, water, parking, internet, etc. are ALL included in the overnight price ! ! !

Of course, we offer our guests a free WLAN hotspot, which operates on a VDSL router with a 500 MBIT connection.

Location and surroundings of object

The holiday flat is located in a listed thatched house built in 1836, also known as the Mecklenburg Hall House. The house is located on the historic village square in the centre of Peckatel, where Mecklenburg Vorpommern's oldest and smallest half-timbered church stands. The village square is surrounded by old thatched-roof houses and is very quiet.

This is the ideal starting point for excursions to Schwerin, whether by car or stress-free in 10 minutes by train, which departs hourly from the small local train station about 1 km away.

Our apartment is located on the edge of the LEWITZ bird sanctuary, which you can explore beautifully on the many cycle paths and circular routes. Many rest areas and cosy places like the hunting lodge Friedrichsmoor invite you to stay.

A brochure rack with many ready-made routes and hiking maps is available in our holiday home.

Our village Plate/ Peckatel is located 5 km from the state capital Schwerin and only 45 km from Wismar and the Baltic Sea. The nearby A14 motorway takes you to the Baltic Sea, such as the Baltic Sea resort of Boltenhagen, within 40 minutes.

The Störwasserstrasse runs through our village, along which you can walk along old towpaths and cycle paths, or even better, explore it by bike. As this waterway is the only access route for ships to Lake Schwerin, there are many ships to admire and great locks and lift bridges to visit ! We would be very happy about a visit.

We are happy if you feel at home ! Plate is a municipality in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim. The municipality of Plate is divided into the districts of Plate, Consrade and Peckatel.
The community lies 4.5 kilometres southeast of Schwerin and eight kilometres southwest (as the crow flies) of Crivitz in the Lewitz landscape conservation area. The Schwerin-Parchim railway line runs through the municipality (Plate stop). Plate lies directly on the Stör waterway, which is crossed by a lift bridge that is immortalised in the municipality's coat of arms. The source of the Bietnitz lies to the north of the village of Peckatel.
In Plate there are various shopping facilities, restaurants, post office, doctors, etc.!

You can withdraw from the contract at any time. The withdrawal must be made in writing. In the event of cancellation up to 90 days before arrival, the deposit will be retained as compensation. In the event of cancellation between 31 days and 89 days prior to arrival, 50 % of the full tour price is payable as cancellation costs.
In the event of cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the rental period, 70% of the full travel price is payable as cancellation charges. (Amounts already paid in will be charged in each case.) In the event of cancellation less than 10 days before the start of the rental period, 90% of the full tour price is payable. (Amounts already paid will be charged.) The date of receipt of your cancellation notice counts in each case. Not recommended in this condition.

Full of anticipation, we arrived and found a weed-overgrown access to the house. Starting from the dirty entrance area, broken doormat, there were sticky kitchen furniture, dirty dishes and cutlery, coffee machine and kettle needed to be cleaned. A broken and repaired cabinet door in the kitchen and switches in the living area were the second bad impression. The shower fitting was/is totally calcified, and the back wall of the wardrobe is coming apart. The outdoor area neither invites grilling in the dirt of the predecessor nor sitting on faded and unstable garden furniture. In addition, there was the dirty trash can in the kitchen and trash cans in the restroom filled by the predecessor. It is worth mentioning that inquiries and requests from us were responded to promptly and kindly. Unfortunately, only by email. We find it very unfortunate that this apartment is so run-down, as it actually invites relaxation and serves as a starting point for many activities.

Schade dass vom Mieter diese angeblichen Mängel nicht bei der Anreise aufgezeigt wurden, denn so richtig nachvollziehen können wir diese Bewertung nicht. Auch wurde seitens Mieter nix aufgezeigt um es ggf. nachbessern zu können. Dennoch nehmen wir soetwas ernst und haben in der Folge den Reinigungs und Hausmeisterservice gewechselt. Als Anfrage/ Bitte kam lediglich ob die Heizung im Sommer angestellt werden kann, was wir auch umsetzten da es sehr regnerische Tage waren. Schade um die schlechte Bewertung. MFG und trotzdem Ihnen einen schönen Sommer

The love for detail is lacking.

We arrived on Saturday and found the apartment in a completely dirty condition. The dishes were dirty, the kitchen was sticky, on the shelves you could see where something had been, the radio was not something you wanted to touch, and there were cobwebs everywhere. The garden furniture is already very worn out, a sun umbrella wouldn't be bad either, and the grill was still dirty from the previous occupant. The size of the apartment is completely okay, the property is fully fenced, which was very nice for our dog. It is very quiet and just the right place for relaxation. After I informed the landlord about the deficiencies by email, it would have been nice if someone had come by in person, especially since the properties are right next to each other. However, the contact was limited to written communication via email. That was very unfortunate. If the apartment were to undergo a proper deep cleaning, a great vacation could be spent there. As it was, it was simply repulsive.

Vacation

The accommodation has aged, some investment is needed, the kitchen is worn, there are missing wall cabinets and a range hood, a bit more cookware so that it doesn't have to be washed daily, the electrical system should be checked, and a bit brighter lighting would be nice. Spatially, the apartment is well-designed; the price-performance ratio is acceptable if the minor changes are made. The village is very nice, and it's not far to Schwerin.
