Casa E&J is a charming, newly renovated Istrian house located in a small village, known for its peaceful rural charm, called Muntrilj, near Tinjan. The house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, perfect for a small family or a group of friends.
Renovated in 2022, Casa E&J blends antique-modern charm that will delight you. The kitchen and living room are connected and lead to a relaxation zone, terrace with barbecue, and a swimming pool. You can spend your days lounging by the pool, grilling delicious meals on the terrace, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
While the house is located in a quiet area, there is plenty to discover in the surrounding nature and the village itself. The beach and sea are just 20 km away, a short 20-minute drive to Poreč.

Location and surroundings of object

The villa is situated in the quaint village of Muntrilj, Croatia, offering a wonderful base for exploring the rich beauty and culture of Istria.

5 min drive away there is a historic Tinjan that has always been a significant Istrian border area throughout history. During the Middle Ages, it became one of the pillars of the estate of Majnard of Montenegro in Pazin, and together with the Pazin castle, it received a wedding bond under the rule of the counts of Gorizia. With them, the fortress of Tinjan protected the often attacked western border towards the estates of Patriarch Aquileia. In the same way, from 1374 until Napoleonic rule, it protected its new owners, the Habsburg imperial family, from the fiery border of Pazin County towards Venetian estates. Although it is a border town, Tinjan has never been a secluded fortress. On the other hand, since 1587, it has been proclaimed a town that proudly and firmly adorns Istria to this day.

Nearby, the historic town of Poreč, just a short drive away, is renowned for its UNESCO-listed Euphrasian Basilica, vibrant old town, and beautiful beaches. Poreč offers a mix of Roman history, lively coastal culture, and stunning Mediterranean scenery.

Just 20 minutes from Muntrilj, you can experience the Pazin Cave Adventure, where you can zip-line across cliffs and caves, while also taking in the town’s historical charm by visiting the Medieval Castle of Pazin, which houses the Ethnographic Museum of Istria and Pazin Museum.

A short drive of twenty minutes will bring you to the lush Motovun Forest, famous for its white and black truffles. Take part in a thrilling mushroom-foraging tour in this dense, enchanting woodland. For those with a love of fine produce, the Istria region is renowned for its wines and olive oils, so make sure to visit the nearby vineyards and olive oil estates to taste some of the finest Croatian products.

The charming hilltop town of Motovun, known for its annual Motovun Film Festival, is just a short journey away.

A little further from Muntrilj, the Baredine Cave awaits with its fascinating stalactite and stalagmite formations, offering an exploration into the region’s geological wonders.

Relaxed family vacation

Our family vacation was very pleasant. The accommodation is clean, comfortable, and cozily furnished. The children had plenty of space to play, and we were able to enjoy the days by the pool and on the terrace. Everything worked smoothly, and we felt welcome from the very first moment.
