Discover the charming holiday home Zwölfenstein in Bad Harzburg, nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Harz Mountains. This idyllic abode offers space for up to 6 guests on 86 square meters and two floors, and features 2 bedrooms with double beds, a large sleeping couch in the living room, the option to rent a baby crib and high chair, and 1 bathroom on each floor, ideal for families or small groups. If more living space is needed, right next door our little Elfenhaus provides space for another 4 people, plus a baby cot.
The house's interior combines comfort with functionality. A fully equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher, microwave, kettle, and coffee maker makes self-catering a breeze. The cozy living room invites you to relax with a comfortable sofa, a wood stove, and a television. Board games, children's and adult books are available. Das Zwölfenstein is located directly by the forest and is approximately 25 minutes on foot, or 8 minutes by car, from the center. The train station is 1.5 km away. The nearest shopping facility and restaurants are approximately 1.5 km away, the beautiful Café Winuwuk only 10 minutes on foot. The wildlife park and the golf course are just 300 meters from the holiday home, and you can reach the picturesque stud meadows in 3 minutes. Hikes or bike tours can be started right from the front door. A bus stop is located just around the corner. With the spa card, you have the opportunity to use the city bus and bus lines across the Harz region free of charge.
Only about a 30-minute walk away is the Castle Hill, which you can see from the living room window. There is a castle ruin there. You can take the cable car to comfortably float up the mountain and come down again with the treetop cable car. There you will also find the treetop path with lots of interesting information about the flora and fauna of the Harz mountains. A high ropes course challenges the brave and the fairy tale forest the little ones. At the Burgberg Center, one learns about the world of Henry IV.
Bad Harzburg has a beautiful promenade that runs through the entire center.
At Zwölfenstein, after a short hike, there is Elfenstein, a wonderful lookout rock in the forest that allows a wide view into the Harz foothills. Or one can start their hike right from their doorstep to the Kästeklippen with their magical rock formations. You can have a pleasant walk just around the corner in the Gestüt meadows on one side and the golf course on the other. There, if you're lucky, you'll encounter cows, horses, and golfers.
Not to forget the game reserve with red and fallow deer, sika deer, and mouflon, as well as a goat enclosure. Some of them even enjoy being petted.
The nearest pizzeria and a kebab snack bar can be reached on foot in 20 minutes in the district of Bündheim or in 5 minutes by car. Right next door there is a Penny supermarket with a bakery, and around the corner a Netto.
Numerous excursion destinations are in the vicinity, such as the imperial city of Goslar with its Imperial Palace and Rammelsberg Mine, Wernigerode with its beautiful fairy tale castle and the Christianental Zoo.

Dear guests, We have been successfully renting our two holiday homes, Zwölfenstein and Elfenhäuschen, since 2010 and 2015 respectively. We have made it our principle to design the holiday homes and their outdoor facilities in such a way that we ourselves would like to live in them. We love nature, the nearby forest, the stud meadows with cows and horses, the game enclosure with red and fallow deer, and of course the Harz! That's why our entire garden is designed to be especially animal- and insect-friendly, and our photovoltaic system with heat pump provides environmentally friendly electricity and heat. Since we live right next door, we are always available and look forward to personal contact with you.
