Egmond aan Zee is located in the municipality of Bergen in the province of North Holland. The village was originally a fishing village, but has been increasingly characterised by tourism since the beginning of the last century. Egmond aan Zee has an 8 kilometre long sandy beach and is therefore particularly popular with families. This cosy town offers a variety of restaurants, beach pavilions and shops that are open daily all year round. One well-known event is the half marathon. The Egmond lighthouse, known as Jan van Speyk, is a particularly beautiful sight. The castle chapel, the ruins and the abbey can be found in the surrounding area. Egmond offers numerous opportunities for walks, swimming, surfing and sailing, so there's never a dull moment.

The Egmond dune area is also a place where you can find peace and quiet: Far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the bustling centre and all other daily worries.
If you love socialising, you should visit Egmond aan Zee! What makes Egmond aan Zee so beautiful? Egmond aan Zee is a cosy little village with a long history. A history that can be found everywhere in Egmond and gives the village its authentic character. Just think of the small boats in the car parks, the centuries-old fishermen's cottages, the former old people's home for sailors, the J.C.J. Speijck lighthouse, the narrow streets, the allotments in the dunes, all combined with the many beautiful, smaller and slightly larger shops in the Voorstraat. In addition, the restaurants, beach pavilions and ice cream parlours within walking distance make Egmond a sociable, charming and cosy village.
