Experience an unforgettable holiday in our creatively designed holiday cave house CaveHouse Andalucia in Gorafe. This unique cave house, carved into the mountain by owners Reinier & Petra, has been designed in a special and ecological way. It has a special atmosphere, with many natural elements and materials, is cosily furnished and has a sunny terrace (45m2) with barbecue, which offers a wide and beautiful view of the small white country village and the mountain walls of the gorge in which the village is located.
Our charming holiday home can accommodate up to 5 guests in 100 square metres of living space. It has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, perfect for families or small groups.
Our holiday home is equipped with a fully equipped kitchenette with microwave, oven, kettle and coffee machine. Crockery is also provided so you can prepare your meals in the comfort of your own home. For barbecue lovers, there is a BBQ grill on the terrace where you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.
As the cave has a constant temperature of around 17-20 degrees in summer and winter, it is nice and cool in summer due to this natural air conditioning and the bedrooms are relatively warm in winter (17 degrees). We have created a comfortable living room for cosy evenings in front of the fireplace.
There is also a hot tub where you can relax after a day of exploring. Bed linen is provided and a washing machine is also available. For your convenience, we have also provided a hairdryer.
The cave house is to be connected to the fibre optic network. At the moment they are working on it. In the meantime you will need to use your own internet connection on your phone or labortop. The internet reception in the living room is good.
Long-term rentals are possible and we only welcome non-smokers. Our holiday home is also suitable for craftsmen.

Location and surroundings of object
The Cavehouse Andalusia is located in the white village of Gorafé. This village is part of the UNESCO Geopark Granada and is also known for its prehistoric dolmens.
This beautiful and special nature reserve is reminiscent of the Grand Canyon in the United States, a wide canyon with colourful rock formations, some of which look like cream cakes made of yellow and red dough with white "cream puffs" on top.
Inhospitable, unspoilt, grandiose and overwhelming are words that come to mind when you see it for the first time.
There is a small supermarket in the village that has everything you need. There are also 2 bar-restaurants and a pharmacy. The village has 368 inhabitants, most of whom live in cave dwellings.
The village is located in a beautiful, almost unspoilt area, which you can explore on foot, by mountain bike (hire facilities, including e-mountain bikes!) or on a 4x4 tour to admire and marvel at the almost surreal stone desert landscape.
there are 2 larger towns 35 kilometres away that offer further amenities: Baza to the north and Guadix to the south.
The tourist attraction of Granada is less than an hour's drive from Gorafé (80 km). In the summer months (May-September), the thermal pool with hot water 8 km away is open.

Cancellation terms:
- You will be refunded half of the booking amount minus the cancellation fee, if you cancel the booking at least 7 days before the planned check-in until 12 o’clock midday CET (Central European time). For cancellations which are made less than 7 days before check-in there will be no refund.

We, Petra and Reinier, discovered the cave houses of Gorafé while travelling through Spain. We immediately fell in love and bought an abandoned cave to transform it into an incomparable holiday home with our own hands. For 8 months we have been cutting 80 wheelbarrows of compressed clay from the mountain every day, shovelling it into wheelbarrows and hauling it down the mountain. What began as a miner's corridor, sparsely lit by lamps hanging from nails, has become a unique house that we would love to show you and experience!
