Location and surroundings of object
The German Wine Route begins 2 kilometres away in Bockenheim.
It attracts visitors with open vineyards, wine taverns, wine tastings and countless wine festivals. It starts with the almond blossom festival in March and ends with the winegrowers' festival in Bockenheim in late autumn.
Numerous castles such as those in Neuleiningen, Altleiningen, Hardenburg, Bad Dürkheim or Wachenheim, as well as Hambach Castle near Neustadt invite you to explore.
Our beautiful Palatinate is not only characterised by the German Wine Route, but also by the Palatinate Forest.
Here there is a 2,200 km long network of paths for hiking, jogging and cycling. At weekends, hikers' huts on all the mountain peaks invite you to "Weck,Worscht un Woi".
The spa town of Bad Dürkheim scores with its salt pans and indoor thermal baths with sauna area, the sausage market, the world's largest wine festival and many other wine events.
Worms hosts the Nibelungen Festival every summer and impresses with its cathedral and ancient Jewish culture.
