Description

Welcome to the Kapitän Hansen Haus, a small paradise for nature lovers, water sports enthusiasts and connoisseurs. The view of the Schlei from the high bank is spectacular. Here you can start the day with a sunny breakfast on the terrace as the first sailing boats pass by on the idyllic Baltic Sea fjord, and end it with a barbecue on the terrace as the yachts return to the harbour.
The large living room with its high ceiling offers relaxation in sunshine and rain with pictures by North German artists, personal designer pieces, a small library, a Bluetooth sound system, a Bose stereo system and the cosy Danish armchair by the Scandinavian stove. At the large dining table, you can spend hours trying out the game collection, eating, chatting and looking out over the water. Fibre optic and W-Lan access are a matter of course. The open-plan kitchen is so well equipped with crockery and kitchen utensils that even creative amateur chefs can cook. All bedrooms offer peace and privacy with direct access to the garden or terrace. You can even go to the sauna or take a dip in the whirlpool.
Just a few steps away you can enjoy the summer on the water, great fun for children and adults alike: swimming, canoeing, sailing or putting your SUP in the water to explore the Schlei and its still almost untouched backwaters and bogs in complete privacy. White-tailed eagles and swan families find refuge here.
The Schlei region offers numerous well-developed cycle paths for extensive tours through the gently rolling landscape with its manor houses, castles and nature reserves. The cosy harbour towns of Kappeln and Eckernförde still have small shops and regional markets. The extensive bathing beaches of the Baltic Sea are within easy reach.
Art and culture can be found in Emil Nolde's house with its marvellous garden in Seebüll. The Gottorf and Glücksburg castles and nearby Denmark are well worth a visit. Music lovers can visit the fantastic Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
Many personal recommendations for restaurants and excursions are waiting to be tried out.

Location and surroundings of object

The Schlei flows from the Baltic Sea to Schleswig through a green landscape with idyllic villages and small harbour towns. Manor houses and aristocratic residences set impressive architectural accents. A good network of cycle paths, sandy bathing spots with reeds and numerous sports harbours provide for sport and exercise. Art and history enthusiasts can pursue their interests in the Viking village of Haithabu, on the Museum Hill in Flensburg, in Gottorf Castle and in the many small museums. The Kapitän Hansen Haus is located on the southern bank of the Schlei on a sandy path in the small holiday village of Hülsen, surrounded by bends, meadows, hills and bordered by the Baltic Sea fjord.
