The village of Rattelvitz consists of the manor house with its adjoining fields, which extend to the Bodden of the Baltic Sea.
3 km from Rattelvitz is the village of Gingst with shopping facilities and restaurants. Gingst has retained its historical character through its once medieval hustle and bustle. Not only the round market square with its houses, but also the craft workshops still reveal the village as the former centre of crafts on Rügen. The special thing about the location of Gut Rattelvitz is its absolute tranquillity; in the morning you will be woken up by birds. It is not uncommon to see rabbits or deer grazing in the meadows around the estate
The large park-like garden surrounding the estate offers plenty of space to sunbathe and relax. Read a good book outside in the garden or simply enjoy the nature around you and let your mind wander
On warm summer days, you can have breakfast or a barbecue on your own outdoor seating area in a private atmosphere. Due to the almost absence of car traffic, the whole area is very suitable for all ages of children. In the large garden as well as at the climbing frame with swing and sandbox, your children can let off steam and explore the surroundings
Older children play football on the north side or are in the trampoline. Smaller children play on the south side, always in view of their parents from the outdoor seats. If the weather is not so sunny, then head to the play barn for all ages or to the large sauna in the remise, with a relaxation room and reading area, where you are sure to find something suitable under > books.
Hiking and cycling tours can be started directly from the house due to the proximity to the forest. For example, you can cycle to the beautiful island of Ummanz, which is 6 km away from Rattelvitz. There you can swim at a small beach or take advantage of the windsurfing offer. If you want to spend a day at the beach, we recommend you drive 37 km to the Baltic Sea beach Juliusruh. There, a beautiful long white sandy beach awaits you, which is the ideal destination on a warm summer's day. In a few km from Rattelvitz you have the possibility of horse riding. From Rattelvitz you can reach the centre of Gingst with restaurants and shops in 3 km. Here you will also find the largest amusement park on Rügen, which is definitely worth a visit.

Great flat
Beautiful surroundings, deer, kites and barn owls. Old, healthy tree population. Bathing in the Baltic Sea floor. Very good furnishings in the historic rooms.

First years of life on Rügen. Raised in West Germany through the precursors of Aktion Rose (coercion of the GDR middle class) Expatriated to the Middle East and North Africa, emigrated to South Africa Returned after reunification and converted the family estate into holiday flats.
