Vacation in a historic house - for us always an exciting thing. When I discovered Das Hus rode Dör in a magazine, I booked immediately, so fascinated was I by the photos. We were not disappointed. Everything was as in the pictures and even more beautiful! Because the atmosphere in the house and the garden can only truly be experienced on-site. Just the reception with two beautiful bouquets from the garden gave us the feeling of being welcome. Everything was very lovingly arranged and clean. The weather was unfortunately not so nice. The bicycles were rarely used. All points on the peninsula would have been easily reachable by bike. We particularly remember the tour over Osterhever to the beach Westerhever and then to Tating to the Swiss House in Hochdorfer Garten. But even "at home" it was comfortable during the rain. In the café right next door, we could indulge ourselves. A Greek restaurant a few houses down was also always well visited, and at Schloss Hoyerswort with its brasserie, we enjoyed a French evening. Most of the time, however, we cooked ourselves in the very well-equipped kitchen and then cuddled up by the stove in the living room, where we studied the very extensive library with books on monument preservation and the culture of the area. Normally, we are too curious about other similar accommodations, but we definitely want to come back to this house to enjoy the terrace and the enchanted garden even more. Thank you for everything!

Hus rode Dör is the most exquisite holiday home one can imagine. The house greets one like a warm embrace and made us feel totally at home the moment we stepped through the back door. Everything has been beautifully designed, all furniture and fittings are of high quality, the bed in the master bedroom is super comfortable (didn't try the other beds), the kitchen very well equipped (everything one needs is there and, to top it all, is placed just where one will look for it the first time round). The wood burning stove draws perfectly and a cosy fire can be established within minutes, which added extra comfort to our evenings. The entire house was super clean, absolutely spotless, and the garden pretty & cared for & tidy and its design, having several 'rooms', reminded us very much of England . . . overall it was absolutely (! ! ! ! ) perfect. And then there were welcome gifts to be found too - thoughtful extras which were very much appreciated. We sincerely thank the owners Ulrike and Tommi for sharing what must be their second home (how otherwise could one explain the work which quite obviously has gone into creating such a wonderful place and the care and devotion to keep it in tip-top nick?) and providing us with such incredible and comfortable home for 5 days and nights. A big 'thank you' also to the person who cleans and gets the property ready for the guests - she/he did an ace job. I'm not normally someone who gets sentimental about any holiday let, but I admit to have felt (and am still feeling) a pang of sadness when we had to pack our bags and head back to the UK. We had such a great time and absolutely LOVED our accommodation in Oldenswort. What a gem Hus rode Dör is!

A small dream house, furnished with great attention to detail and taste, we felt completely at home here. We had the pleasure of being guests at Hus rode Dör for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nothing was missing. Even our dog was thought of with a welcome snack. The little perennial garden is beautifully laid out, here you can chill wonderfully. We will definitely come back.

We just got back 3 days ago - and I've already booked for next year! That says it all, right?! We were in Hus rode Dör for the 2nd time and it was really, really great again! Everything was spotless and especially always so lovingly prepared with "treats" for both the human and animal guests. This year we were so lucky with the weather that we often had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful garden. Wonderful! And there is always a card with personal words, bouquets of flowers, and a few drinks ready. Thank you very much and see you next time! ! !

It was soooo beautiful! Everything! The Hus rode Dör is an absolute dream! It has been renovated and furnished with so much love for detail. Nothing is missing: the kitchen is well equipped (plenty of good dishes, many spices, etc.), the beds are comfortable, wood for the stoves is available, food bowls for the dog are provided, jam, snacks, and drinks for both humans and dogs are ready, and much more. And it is spotless! I have cautiously booked for next year already, so that no one snatches this beautiful accommodation away from us! ! !

Lovingly renovated and furnished house - especially for children, a lot has been thought of, we didn't have to drag everything possible from home, the library for young and old is stocked with carefully selected titles, and in the kitchen with its comprehensive and beautiful equipment, we were able to cook and bake really well. We didn't feel like we were in a vacation apartment, but rather at the home of acquaintances who had lent us their residence. Every walk through the house and everything done in it felt joyful and uplifting.

Beautifully and stylishly restored townhouse with an enchanting charming garden. Without the detour with countless trucks and the closure of the dyke bike paths (blue tongue disease), it would have been perfect. Overall, a clear vacation recommendation. ️‍

The Hus rode Dör is truly extraordinarily beautiful, tasteful, and very well-maintained, including the wonderful garden. We were also very pleased with the fresh flowers and the little attentions. This made us feel welcome right away. The great library is a wonderful resource. We were able to get several ideas for activities from it. It was two very relaxing, unforgettable holiday weeks.

We were allowed to spend a wonderful Easter time in the lovingly decorated Hus rode Dör, and because it was so nice, we spontaneously extended our stay. This additional booking was very uncomplicated, Ulrike took care of what was necessary, and the contact with "Ferien an der Nordsee" was always courteous and extremely friendly. All in all, highly recommended, and we hope to be guests again soon in this delightful abode with the dreamy garden in Oldenswort. Thanks to all these conditions, it is easy to rejuvenate body and soul on vacation and return to everyday life relaxed. We were so in the "flow" that we are only now giving our feedback, and we apologize for that.

A very nice accommodation. The house immediately captivates you as soon as you step over the threshold. At every spot, we felt how much love was put into its restoration and decoration, while preserving the character of the house. It was a true home for us for the few days we stayed.

December 22 - 29, 2023 This was our second holiday at "Hus rode Dör"! The cottage welcomed us with a wonderfully beautiful atmosphere - everywhere there were vases with fresh fir greenery; lovingly arranged tiered stands with nuts, mandarins, and cookies, and a huge, nostalgically decorated Christmas tree filled the whole house with a lovely Christmas scent! The first time we were here was in the summer (July 2023) and we were thrilled by the “overall package” - house, furnishings, amenities, garden - everything was simply perfect! We were welcomed with a lovely summer bouquet, homemade treats, and a personal message. The house is lovingly furnished and the garden is beautifully laid out - you can feel how much passion and love went into it! A stunning vacation home that is truly one of a kind!

Very beautifully and lovingly restored. Absolutely coherent all around! The garden is also appealing and everything is present! In somewhat cooler times, it could get a bit chilly inside the house. But at the beginning of September, it was manageable even with wool socks! The house is still recommended!

The Hus rode Dör is an absolute highlight - atmospheric and far above the usual standards found in holiday homes. You can feel the love for detail even before entering and it feels like you're coming home to good old friends. We brought our usual supplies (spices, vinegar, oil, coffee filters, tea, ... and so on ... because we like to cook on vacation ... and didn't need any of it because everything was simply there. Even for our dog, there were filled bowls and special treats! The four days were simply wonderful, and we would have loved to stay longer. Thank you very much - we will come again :)

Fantastic vacation in a beautiful house, we lacked nothing, everything is lovingly furnished, a dream garden, we enjoyed the peace and quiet right in the small village, bakery, butcher (excellent quality) just a 2-minute walk!
