Description
The trackman's house by the lake is a historical former trackman's house from the year 1895, now under heritage protection. With 90 sqm of living space and a 40 sqm terrace, it is a vacation home for enthusiasts who cherish the charm of objects that exude an air of bygone eras. After the change of ownership in 2022, the goat barn was converted into a modern bathroom, the original concrete floor was tiled, and a kitchen matching the style of the house was installed, as well as a large terrace overlooking the chapel and lake was built in 2023.
The ground floor contains a living room with satellite TV and Wi-Fi, a dining room with a wood stove, a kitchen with all necessary appliances, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, underfloor heating, and a toilet, a guest toilet, and a utility room with a washing machine and cleaning equipment. The upper floor contains a second living area open to the staircase, as well as a separate bedroom.
The adjacent shed is not part of the rental property, but may be used for bicycle storage upon agreement. E-bikes can also be charged here.
Three minutes to the lake with Goldbach beach.
Five minutes to Goldbach's recommended pizzeria.
Five minutes to the Uferpark restaurant right by the lake.
Ten-minute walk through the Uferpark to the thermal baths. Twenty minutes' walk along the waterfront to the landing place with diverse gastronomy and the shops of the downtown area.
Bus stop directly opposite (city and regional buses)
The Lake Constance cycle path passes right by the house.
Hikers are immediately in untouched, varied nature with signposted hiking trails.
Signalman's houses have the characteristic of being located on a railway line. These and also the road from Überlingen to Sipplingen are located between the lake and the property. However, traffic is generally not found to be bothersome on the terrace.
At night it is absolutely quiet. Inside the house, nothing can be heard.

Location and surroundings of object
The railway guard's house is located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Constance, opposite the Sylvester Chapel, one of Germany's oldest church buildings. The opposite shore with the Bodanrück ridge is a nature reserve without settlements and conveys the impression of untouched, intact nature. The house is within walking distance to Therme train station (10 min.) and the city center (20 min.). Überlingen, often referred to as the "Nice of Lake Constance," besides boasting the historic charm of its old town, shines in the summer with a display of flowers and palms along the promenade, lovingly maintained by the city's gardening department.

In dem Bahnwärterhäuschen von 1895 fühlt man sich sehr geborgen und es ist mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Das Haus ist neu eingerichtet und sehr sauber und gepflegt. Überhaupt ist alles im Häuschen sehr schön mit Alt und neu kombiniert. Es ist perfekt renoviert geworden, das sieht man nicht so oft. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Holiday home with great layout, excellent amenities, and view of Lake Constance.
The house, which appears quite small from the outside, is surprisingly spacious inside. The interior design is very tasteful and extremely cozy, creating a true feel-good atmosphere. Everything has been thought of here. For example, I have never had such a well-equipped kitchen in a holiday accommodation. The rooms are spotless. There is even a washing machine and a drying rack.
The friendly hosts are happy to help with questions (e.g., via WhatsApp message). On the other side of the street, there are 2 bus stops. With the Bodenseecard, which is included in the booking at no extra cost, you can use buses and trains within the Bodensee-Oberschwaben transport association for free.
The house is located in the Goldbach district. However, you can also easily walk to the city center along the lakeside promenade.
I can highly recommend the accommodation.

Very relaxing
We had wonderful weather and could swim in the lake every day, just across the street and 30m further there is a staircase to the water - lovely.
The house is well-equipped and very well-maintained even though it is already 100 years old, we missed nothing.
From the very beginning, we felt welcome (wine in the fridge) and enjoyed our time very much.

Recreational vacation
Very beautiful holiday home with a feel-good character. Wonderful terrace with a view of Lake Constance. The apartment is perfectly equipped, especially the kitchen. Nothing is missing.
The location is perfect for swimming in the lake and as a starting point for beautiful bike tours and walks by the lake. E-bikes can be parked in the locked shed and the batteries can be charged.
Very friendly and accommodating hosts who provided us with good tips for the area. Everything perfect; we would love to come back.
