On Capo Mele (Apple Cape), between Andora in the west and Laigueglia/Alassio in the east, on the most beautiful stretch of the Italian Riviera delle Palme (Palm Riviera), lies our small but very special house. Since 1963 it has been in family ownership and, after a division of the property in 1986, was rebuilt and extended. Originally, the marquis Maglione, who resided in the valley, had his hunting lodge here. The property consists of a main house with an adjoining former farmhouse (today both under separate ownership) and the annex converted into a house, namely our "Bicocca". (bicocca = dovecote, love nest). The house is occupied by us several times a year and occasionally rented out. Many regular tenants have been coming here for years. Because our Bicocca is very close to our hearts and is often used by the family, you will find many individual, quirky, and personal furnishings and pieces of furniture here. This is precisely what makes our little house so unique, making it incomparable to typical holiday homes.
From the street, you first enter the entrance (where the washing machine is also located) and from there into the garden. From the garden, you reach the master bedroom, approx. 12 sqm with a double bed. From a small hallway, you enter the shower room (approx. 4 sqm) and a small but fully equipped kitchen (approx. 5 sqm, microwave, stove with 3 gas and one electric burner, 1 induction plate, electric oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment). From the kitchen, you enter the living room (approx. 14 sqm) with a wood-burning stove (can also be used as an open fireplace, plenty of wood available), seating area, 6 seats, television with satellite reception, Wi-Fi. This is followed by a beautiful, large winter garden (14 sqm) with a reading corner and breakfast table. From there you can access the garden again. From the seating area in the garden you can enter the children's house. Here you will find 2 single beds and a washing facility.
Thanks to the up to 1 m thick, old walls, the house stays pleasantly cool in summer and is easy to heat in winter (gas central heating, electric heater/infrared heater in the children's house). In front of the children's house there is a brick seating area, in front of the main house a covered pergola with deck chairs. The Mediterranean garden with lemon, peach, pomegranate and fig trees, palms and local agaves, aloe and flowering climbing plants is – if our visitors take pity and water it abundantly – a little paradise. It is surrounded by a natural stone wall and completely enclosed, so there is also enough space for pets and dogs can run freely. Next to the house is the staircase to the large roof terrace with a seating area and the beautiful double view of the two bays.
If peace and Mediterranean flair are more important to you than a dishwasher, if you would rather escape the tourist hustle and bustle to a little paradise than to an overcrowded hotel, if one of the most spectacular sea views in Europe and a beautiful starry sky are more important to you than luxury and a swimming pool, then you have come to the right place. The "Bicocca" is a rustic holiday house, not a luxury accommodation.
We generally rent year-round by arrangement. Arrival day Saturday or by arrangement. Minimum rental period in the season (June to September) 2 weeks. Preferably to two or three people, possibly parents with two older children, as the children's house is not directly connected to the main house, but you have to go about 8 meters through the garden (baby monitor if necessary). The garden with "pointed" cacti and agaves is not really suitable for small children; moreover, you could fall quite a distance over the wall, so it is not necessarily child-safe. Pets are welcome. Dogs can run freely in the garden without any problems. (Please just remove the "leftovers"!). Since we are all non-smokers, we urgently ask you to smoke only outside. Bed linen and towels are provided on request (20€ per person). Heating fee (15€ per day) is only charged from November to April. Final cleaning is done by a cleaning lady (60€).

Location and surroundings of object
Due to its location up on the cape about 230m above sea level, the house belongs to the municipality of Andora (approx. 2.5km), the adjacent road to Laigueglia (approx. 5km). Alassio is about 8km away. Since there is no public transport up the mountain, a car is indispensable. The highway goes all the way to Andora itself. The Riviera Express (train) also goes to Andora. The nearest airport is Genoa (approx. 85 km) or Nice (also approx. 85 km) (there are inexpensive flights there, from there we rent a car). This is the most beautiful part of the Riviera. The mountains "fall" directly into the sea, so there is no space for high-rise buildings or greenhouses, and above all Laigueglia and Alassio have retained their old charm. Andora has a beautiful wide beach, well suited for children, as the water only gradually gets deeper. San Remo, the French border, Menton, the Principality of Seborga, Monaco, are quickly reachable; in the other direction there are also many charming towns and villages, and the hinterland is very beautiful as well. Our tenants receive many tips from us!

Dreamlike break?
After my brother recommended this gem to me, I was briefly at the beautiful Bicocca with my girlfriend.
It was really great, we had a very good time. The terrace on the roof was our highlight. All kinds of excursion destinations are easily accessible via the toll highway. We would love to come back.
Marina - the host is super nice and we got along very well.

...again and again a dream!
For many years, we have been drawn again and again to this little paradise in Liguria – and each time it feels as if time stands still.
Even at the first glance at the endless blue of the sea, we know: Here we have arrived.
The silence, only interrupted by the chirping of crickets, and the private, sheltered location make us completely forget everyday life. This vacation home is not just a travel destination for us, but a fixed, beloved part of our vacation story – our annual highlight full of happy moments.

Beautiful vacation
Hello vacationer,
first about the service: Since it is a holiday home, we can only say that the overall organization worked well. We had a lovely holiday! As described, a rustic and personal decor and very accurately described! Very cozy and well-equipped. The view from the living room window or from the rooftop terrace is simply incredible! It is quiet due to the location on the mountain. We were there for the second time and will definitely come again :).

Romantic atmosphere
The house, the "Bicocca," is beautifully situated at the highest point above the seaside resort of Andora.
Our car could be parked about 50 meters next to it. The house has a natural stone facade and looks like a small castle.
The interiors are individually and cozily furnished and have a certain charm. The garden is planted in a Mediterranean style and is not visible from outside.
However, the most beautiful place for us was the large rooftop terrace. The view of the sea was simply breathtaking. A car is definitely recommended due to the location.
We really enjoyed our time there once again!

totally in love with this romantic holiday oasis
We are repeat offenders. This all-around wonderful place has captivated us. High above the two bays on the rooftop terrace, it is pleasant to stay. The view from there is breathtaking time and again, and it is worth being up there early for the sunrise. Enjoying yoga sessions, breakfast, and food in general is perfect there. The enchanting, Mediterranean-planted garden is perfect for a sunbed siesta in the shade. The accommodation is so cozy and nicely furnished that you can only feel good! There are plenty of excursion destinations - you just have to muster the strength to break away from there ;-) Marina is a super well-organized host - everything works! Dolce vita in Italy guaranteed!!!
