Description
The Haukohl House overlooks the Elde River directly opposite the old town of Plau. Formerly used as the town's kindergarten, the large and 5-metre-high group rooms are now the living and dining rooms of the old villa. On the upper floor, the total of 5 bedrooms are partly divided with old wooden beams, one looks out onto the Elde, another looks into the garden. The garden covers 1000 sqm, in the front you have a view of the water and the old lift bridge of the city, in the back you play, barbecue in summer and eat on the terrace. Old and new, antiques and found objects, that's how the house is furnished. Old floorboards throughout the villa, but a modern kitchen and new bathrooms for one or two families, no plush armchairs, but bistro tables and beer benches in the garden. The Haukohl house is not the classic holiday home, but rather privately furnished, because we often use it ourselves. No satellite TV, but a modest TV with video recorder, no ornamental garden, but one for romping and playing: if you like old houses with individual charm, you will fall in love with the Haukohl house. Location and surroundings of object
The house directly overlooks the Elde and the old town of plausibility. With a few steps you walk through the old lift bridge in the city, or running on the old wall to the lock. To the lake is 5 minutes, the best swimming spots are walking 10 minutes. And the Klüschenberg leads in 10 minutes in the woods in the climbing park to wade through the trees or discover hidden waters as the Gaarzer lake.

additional information about rental price:
| The house is rented including utilities. We provide sheets, blankets and pillows. You are welcome to bring your own bed linen and towels or we can provide them for a fee of 12,- Euro/set. The minimum rent is 2 nights, at Easter 4 nights, at Christmas/New Year's Eve 5 nights and in June, July and August we usually only rent by the week. The house can accommodate up to 10 adults and up to 5 children. The rent of the house/night costs 230,- Euro for up to 8 persons, from June to August as well as on Himmefahrt, 1 May, Ascension, Easter and Whitsun 250,- Euro, and on Christmas 275,- Euro/night. More than 8 persons cost 10,- Euro per person and day extra. On weekends (2 or 3 days) the house always costs 250,- Euro/night for up to 8 persons. A deposit of 20% of the total rent is due at the time of booking. The rest of the rent is due one week before arrival at the latest. A refundable deposit of 100,- Euro is also due 7 days before the start of the rental period. In addition, the town of Plau charges 1.50 Euro visitor's tax per person (from 16 years) and day from April to October. |

Dreamlike weekend in a great villa
The house has history - and a dreamlike location: right in the middle of Plau am See, yet quiet and with a view of the water and a garden where coffee tastes even better in the morning sun. The many bedrooms and the opportunities to cook together in the large kitchen and use the grill in the garden made this house a perfect place for our seminar group meeting of the old study group. In just a 20-minute walk, you can reach a very nice swimming spot at Lake Plau. Highly recommended for families with children, travel groups, friends.

Eine wunderschöne Woche
First of all, thanks to Mr. Gräff for his quick, friendly, and uncomplicated communication with me! We, 4 adults, enjoyed the spaciousness of the rooms and the ambiance of the historic villa very much. The mix of old and modern in the furnishings perfectly suited our taste, and we felt very comfortable from the first day. The location is unbeatable, right by the drawbridge. We had a dinghy with us, which we only had to carry down a small hill to put it into the Elde River, and from there we headed out onto the nearby lake. The old town, bakeries, restaurants, and delicious ice cream are all within walking distance. We were so excited that we have already booked again for next year.

Wonderful paddle and fishing vacation with children.
We, two families with a total of five children, spent a wonderful holiday in Plau am See. Beautiful large old villa right on the Elde. Directly - take the folding kayak out of the garden and onto the water. The large garden in the back is ideal for letting the children run around and play games (badminton, Kubb). A tire swing and a fire pit for an evening campfire complete the picture. Centrally located, you have everything you need. Cooking in the kitchen and next door a large dining room with the advantage that everyone can sit at the big table. All in all highly recommended - Clean and allergen-friendly.

A beautiful accommodation for a family gathering
The size and the facilities of the house and the garden were ideal for group games but also offered opportunities for solitude. As the weather was very warm, we took advantage of the various water sports activities in the village or nearby. A very nice holiday!

We live in Hamburg and live in Plau. I guess you could say that, even though we are more often in the bigger city of the two due to our jobs. But as often as we can, we drive to the lake district, look out from the front garden onto the Elde, listen to concerts in the beautiful Marienkirche, jump into the lake or make campfires in the garden.
