Discover our charming vacation home HW8 in Herkingen on the Grevelingen Meer. This beautiful holiday home in South Holland accommodates up to 4 guests (6 upon request) across approximately 70 square meters of living space and features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Surrounded by a picturesque quiet landscape, it is the perfect spot for a relaxing holiday.
The holiday home is distinguished by its stylish decor and high-quality amenities. In the cozy living room, you can spend relaxed evenings in front of the TV, while remaining connected to the world thanks to free Wi-Fi.
The modern new kitchen (2023) is equipped with a dishwasher, oven including integrated microwave, induction stove, extractor hood, kettle, toaster, stand mixer (blender) for smoothies or shakes, and coffee machines (capsules -Dulce Gusto) or filter, allowing you to easily prepare delicious meals. A wide selection of spices is available.
A picnic basket with small dishes is ready in the house.
In the left bedroom, you will find a comfortable bed 180x200 cm and a TV - SAT receiver and DVD (incl. selection of DVDs)
The right bedroom is equipped with a bed 160x200 cm, which is also suitable for children as it resembles a bunk bed.
The bathroom, renovated in 2022, is equipped with a hairdryer. In the outdoor area of the vacation home, you will find an idyllic garden that invites you to relax and enjoy nature. Here, there is a Weber kettle grill that invites you to sociable evenings with delicious food. A terrace invites you to sunbathe and enjoy cozy gatherings, while the parking lot directly at the house ensures stress-free parking.
Please note that our vacation home is a non-smoking house. Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is located in a bungalow complex in the village of Herkingen, a small village with a beautiful harbor on the Grevelingen Meer.
In 10 minutes you can reach the Grevelingen Meer with a small beach bay on foot. By car in 5 minutes, parking is possible there.
Surfing as well as stand-up paddling are very good options due to the shallow sea shore.
The nearest larger shopping facilities are in the towns of Dirksland (5 km) and Middelharnis (10 km) away. Directly opposite the house Herkingen-West No. 8 there is a small playground, a few more meters away. Football, volleyball, table tennis, and a tennis court invite you to play. In the restaurant of the complex (sushi is also available here) there is a bowling alley.
Near the reception there is a washhouse with 2 large washing machines and a dryer (please get suitable coins at the reception). Next to the reception, there is a swimming pool for guests of the complex and a separate paddling pool for the little ones.
If you love the dunes, the North Sea is not far; the wonderful beach at Brouwersdam, including the beautiful beach clubs, can be reached by car in 20 minutes. Free parking is available there.
The lighthouse on the North Sea at Groenedijk, which is a bit quieter (see photo), is also only 28 km away. If you enjoy strolling through cities, we recommend these to you:
Zierikzee (33 km) our favorite city – Typical canals and alleys with a beautiful harbor, nice restaurants, and for us the best snack bar with the famous kibbeling and “Pommes Spezial.”
In July and August, there is always a flea market near the dike* on Wednesdays from 10:00 am.
Veere (65 km) also a charming place, there is often a market here on Tuesdays, but please also google whether it is taking place, as it depends on the season. Middelburg (72 km) is a bit further, but the drive there is worth seeing. You drive over the famous Zeeland Bridge here, which alone is already impressive. On Mondays, there is a flea market at the marketplace in the morning, and there are also very nice shops for shopping; you can also book a beautiful, idyllic canal tour.
Delft (66 km) is beautiful. On Saturdays, there is a flea market on the canals – but please make sure in advance that it is taking place. Nice museums.
Rotterdam (54 km) with the famous food hall. A boat tour is also possible here.
The Hague (88 km) – on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. most shops are open. There is also plenty of culture to admire.
Amsterdam (135 km) is of course also worth a day trip. Lots of culture, many canals and museums. There are tricks and tips for parking; please ask us about this.
*Browsing – Do you enjoy browsing flea markets? Then we have some tips for you, feel free to ask us. Within a 10 km radius, you will find something from Monday to Saturday. A tip: if the weather isn’t cooperating, children can also be made happy for just a few euros—pocket money will surely be enough.
If you like eating out, we usually have up-to-date tips, because nice restaurants are one of our passions, and there is certainly something for every budget.

Super beautiful Holland house
We were really lucky that this beautiful house was available when we planned our vacation.
It is simply a feel-good oasis! The house is very clean, perfectly thought out, everything is there. We can really recommend it.
The hosts are warm and had great tips for us.

For us, a true feel-good place.
We have already been to this beautiful holiday home for the second time and will definitely come back.
Even upon arrival, you feel at home. The house is more of a home than a holiday house, so lovingly furnished and equipped with everything necessary. The landlords are also always available and very kind.
The location is very quiet; however, the drive to the North Sea is a bit longer, but that does not detract from the relaxation. One can easily reach all desired places.
We will definitely come back!

Cozy holiday home
We have felt very comfortable in this special holiday home for years and enjoy coming back regularly. It is equipped with everything we need on vacation.
