Look no further and come to our luxurious forest cottage in the nature reserve 'Reestdal' to enjoy carefree.
Casa Ciconia is located on the peaceful and small-scale recreation park Landgoed het Reestdal. The holiday home borders the forest and has its own beautiful forest garden. An ideal place for families, walking enthusiasts, cyclists, mountain bikers and nature lovers.
Cosy and charming
The holiday home has a cosy living room with a luxurious open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher and a combi oven and offers all amenities. There is a rustic table with 6 comfortable chairs where you can dine delightfully. In the living area there is a large and comfortable couch for relaxing and watching TV. The living room opens to French doors leading to the garden. On the terrace you can sit comfortably in the luxurious garden set and a cosy hanging chair.
Luxurious bathroom and 3 bedrooms with made-up beds
When you arrive, the beds are already nicely made. There is a towel ready for everyoneOn the ground floor you will find the first bedroom with two beds, which offers a view of the forest. Next to the bedroom there is a separate toilet and a luxurious bathroom with shower and bathtub. On the first floor there are two more charming bedrooms and a closet to store your belongings. One bedroom offers a view of the forest, while the other bedroom has a balcony where you can enjoy a coffee in the morning sun.
Large private forest garden
In the large woodland garden, you can relax in a hammock in summer and eat al fresco at a cosy picnic table. There is a private gazebo in the garden where you can safely store your own bicycles if you bring any. In this arbour you will also find fun outdoor games suitable for both adults and children. The forest garden has a bohemian atmosphere that gives you that real holiday feeling. In the evening, atmospheric lights and lanterns in the trees add to the cosiness.
Free wifi and extra amenities for children
The holiday home is fully equipped. There is free Wi-Fi, so you can also work from here. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. There are both indoor and outdoor games in the cottage. For children, we offer additional amenities such as a cot, a baby swing seat, a foldable playpen, a changing unit with changing pad, a microwave, etc. For older children there is a Nintendo Wii and two large go-karts in the garden for lots of outdoor fun. There is a private parking space by the cottage. A wonderful place to really switch off and feel at home straight away.
Additional amenities in the neighbouring park
Next to Landgoed het Reestdal is another recreational park. The facilities of this park can also be used by the guests of Casa Ciconia. In summer there is a swimming pool for a refreshing dip. There is a bouncy cushion and two playgrounds. Children can take part in the park's activities during the high season. At the reception you can order bread rolls and pick them up the next day. On Mondays and Fridays you can order fries. There is a small shop at the reception for the most important errands, very practical."

Visit IJhorst, a charming village in the Netherlands, ideal for relaxation and nature. The village of IJhorst is located on the border between Drenthe and Overijssel. IJhorst is situated in the Reestdal, a beautiful natural landscape. There are many special plants and animals here, including badgers, deer and not forgetting storks. It is the place where you can meet storks everywhere! This area is the largest breeding ground in the Netherlands.

Hiking and cycling
About 20 kilometres from Casa Ciconia are the two beautiful national parks 'het Dwingelderveld' and 'Weerribben-Wieden'. A must for a visit! Visit the visitor centres of Natuurmonumenten, from where the most beautiful cycling and walking routes start. All the information you need for a wonderful trip can be found in our holiday home.
