The idyllic village of Sieber in the Harz Mountains with its 670 inhabitants is situated at an altitude of 340 m above sea level in the middle of a nature reserve, on the border to the Harz National Park.
The village stretches for several kilometres in a narrow valley from east to west, through which the river of the same name flows. The idyllic valley today attracts walkers, hikers, Nordic walkers and cyclists in particular, because of its healthy nature and clean air.
The mild stimulating climate is particularly suitable for climatic therapies, for convalescence or in case of reduced resilience.
The upper Siebertal, a kilometre-long forest area, is an "oasis of peace" for all those who want to enjoy the unspoilt nature on foot or by bike. You can hike around 250 km on more than 50 signposted trails around Sieber. Since 2006, for example, it has been possible to explore the village via the panorama trail "Around Sieber". More difficult and longer hiking trails lead to the Hanskühnenburg, the Großer Knollen and to Sankt Andreasberg.
With the forestry trail and the river adventure trail, Sieber has two attractions that are unique in this combination in the Harz Mountains. Since 2013, there has been another attraction, the Sieber Nature Experience Trail with its 11 stations "Around Sieber".
In autumn, the magnificent colouring of the leaves and the roaring of the red deer during the rutting season fascinate visitors time and again.
And in winter, too, the small village has its own special charms: cleared hiking trails, a cross-country ski trail, a toboggan slope and the proximity to the winter sports centres of the Upper Harz.
The adventure playground is also an attraction for children.
