Kohren-Sahlis is a 20-minute drive south of Leipzig in the Neuseenland region, which is rich in water. The small river Wyhra and the three legendary streams Mouse, Rat and Cat flow through Kohren-Sahlis. Green hills and valleys lure visitors on gentle hikes through 600 hectares of aromatic mixed forest. Countless hiking trails lead to ancient buildings, breathtaking views, historical sites and whet your appetite for German history. Fascinating excursions to the 4 large lakes with all the possibilities to enjoy water fun are not only worthwhile in summer, because all year round the hospitable innkeepers have cosy places ready for a tasty refreshment after experiencing nature. In the pottery town you can learn to make pottery yourself in pottery workshops. In good weather, sun-downer sailing trips can be enjoyed on the nearby lakes, narrow forest-lined roads invite bikers on challenging tours, and a cosy reading day in a snug holiday home also provides relaxation. By foot, boat, bike or automobile....here is the ideal place for beauty.

As a city dweller, I enjoy the peace and quiet and the closeness to nature in Kohren Sahlis, just 20 minutes by car from Leipzig, on my days off. As soon as I drive up, I open the car windows and breathe in the spicy forest air, let my eyes wander over meadows and dreamy little villages and am happy that the inhabitants of the Kohrener Land preserve and lovingly embellish the beauty and history of this area.
