Location description

St Pierre la Mer is situated between Narbonne and Béziers on a wonderfully wide and kilometre-long fine sandy beach. The resorts of Narbonne Plage and Gruissan border it to the south and Valras Plage to the north. The coast is dotted with lagoons, where numerous water birds, including flamingos, cavort. Towards the interior, the La Clape mountains offer a variety of short and long excursions. In the interior, there are numerous excursion destinations, Narbonne with the most beautiful market hall in France, Carcassonne with its famous castle, Minerve, La Grasse, l'Abbaye de Fontfroide and many more.

In St Pierre there is a large, typical southern French market every day, here you will find everything from fruit to vegetables, salami to cheese, mattress to cooking spoon or paella to crispy fried chicken. Numerous restaurants offer everything your heart desires with great variety. In the village there are small supermarkets and bakers, among others. Larger supermarkets can easily be reached by car.
