Cozy house where you live in the Småland countryside in Gåsefall with a magical view of meadows, forest and fields but still close to Vimmerby. You only have 7km to the popular Wirum Moose Park where you can go on a moose safari in safari wagons where you can feed and pet the moose and see the beautiful fallow deer. Coffee and ice cream are also served here, as well as a playground for the children. In Smedstorpasjön, which is about 1 km away, you can swim. The house has a large garden with outdoor furniture and various fruit trees, which is bordered by a beautiful hedge on one side. Here you can enjoy nature and the beautiful views. You have a large kitchen with a dining area and most of what you might need. There are a total of three companion rooms. In the largest there is a dining area and sofa furniture. The smallest is a beautiful dining room. The third has a sofa and desk. You have a spacious bathroom with toilet, sink, large shower and washing machine. A beautiful staircase takes you up to the second floor where there is a balcony and two bedrooms. One with a double bed, the other with two single beds. If you want a larger swimming area with a jetty, there are e.g. Gränssjön in Tuna near. You have a variety of day trips if you wish. In cozy picturesque Vimmerby there are restaurants, shops, nice swimming areas and a high altitude/zipline park for those who want a challenge. There is Astrid Lindgren's World, which is usually popular with the children. You can visit many of the places where Astrid Lindgren's films were shot, such as Bullerbyn and Emil's Katthult. Her childhood home Näs can also be visited. Experience the filming environments in Filmbyn, where there is also delicious homemade ice cream. In the old farming village of Ingebo hagar, you can go on guided tours of the farm's animals. Don't miss Mellingerum's Café, where there is lunch, coffee and Neapolitan pizza in lovely surroundings. You also have Skogens houngscafé in Flohult and Ellens Äppelställe in Tuna. There is also a farm shop and hiking trails here. There is a grocery store in Tuna 1km away.

We had a really nice time in this holiday home and can recommend it without reservation. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful, spacious location. The property is very large, open, and offers a wonderful view over the fields and into the surrounding forests. The surroundings are wonderfully quiet and idyllic – exactly what we wished for a relaxing holiday in Sweden. At the same time, one did not feel completely isolated, as in the immediate vicinity there were other houses and also cows in the surrounding pastures. The nature and the tranquility were definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The furnishings of the house also positively surprised us. Actually, we lacked nothing. There was a large selection of kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and many other practical items available, so we were able to take care of ourselves very well during our stay. One can tell that the house is not just equipped as a pure holiday accommodation, but that a lot has really been thought of there. Therefore, the furnishings are also very suitable for a longer stay with the family. The house itself has a special, very individual charm. The furnishings are partially older, and there are many beautiful old pieces of furniture and items that give the impression that some of them have belonged to the house for a long time and may even be personal mementos of the family. This makes the house not feel like a modern, interchangeable vacation rental, but rather gives it its own character and a history. At the same time, many things were combined with newer furniture and furnishings, so that it is overall a beautiful mix of old and new. We particularly liked the upper floor, which has apparently been completely renovated. Everything there is very nicely and modernly designed and makes a very well-kept impression. Overall, the house was clean, cozy, and we felt at home there immediately. Recommendations: The holiday home is also a very nice starting point for excursions. We visited many destinations around Vimmerby and the surrounding area during our stay: Bullerbü, Katthult, Astrid Lindgren's World, Astrid Lindgren's Näs, Filmbyn Småland in Mariannelund, and the Virum Elk Park. We also visited Västervik on the Baltic Sea and were in Gamleby on the beautiful Troll Path. It is precisely the mix of Astrid Lindgren locations, nature, small towns, and excursion destinations that makes the area very varied for a family vacation. The excursion destinations are easily and conveniently reachable by car from the holiday home. However, due to the location in Småland, one should generally plan for somewhat longer travel times. This is simply normal for this area and is also part of the vacation for us: You drive through beautiful landscapes, past forests, fields, red houses, and small lakes. For this, you reach many beautiful places without having to live in the middle of the tourist hustle and bustle. For us, this combination was ideal: a quiet and idyllic holiday home as a starting point and at the same time the opportunity to undertake many different experiences in the area. After an excursion, we could always return to the tranquility of the large property and let the evening unwind in a relaxed manner. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would particularly recommend the holiday home to families looking for an authentic Swedish vacation with plenty of nature, peace, and numerous excursion opportunities in the area.
