We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful holiday home in Donkerbroek! The location is absolutely peaceful, surrounded by beautiful forests and fields. We spent our days cycling along picturesque routes and exploring the nearby Drents-Friese Wold National Park. The house was well-equipped, allowing us to prepare meals and enjoy family dinners on the terrace. It was perfect for our group with children, as they had plenty of toys to keep them occupied. Just a warning for older guests: the stairs are steep and there is no toilet upstairs, which can be a bit challenging. All in all, a great vacation for families!

The children loved playing with the available toys, which made it an ideal place for families. A warning: the stairs are quite steep, so it may not be the best for people with mobility issues, but we managed fine. Overall, a fantastic getaway!

What we found a downside was that there was no central heating upstairs and it was not insulated. The result was that it was freezing cold upstairs. The electric heaters provided were a nice gesture but absolutely not enough to chase away the polar bears.
