Harkány Spa & Beach Bath
The Harkány Spa and Beach Bath - one of the most famous baths in Central Europe and the most modern in Hungary - can look back on a history of more than 180 years.
The thermal water of the bath, which has an average temperature of 62 °C and comes from a depth of 50 - 70 m, has a unique composition. Different sulphur compounds such as carbonyl sulphide - due to its gaseous state it can be absorbed particularly well by the body, exerting its healing effect and boosting the metabolism - hydrogen sulphide and colloidal sulphur as well as the trace elements fluorine, zinc and selenium make it so special. Due to its strong anti-inflammatory effect, the water is very suitable for the treatment of rheumatic diseases and psoriasis. It is available all year round in two outdoor pools, whose temperature ranges from 34 °C to 38 °C depending on the season, and various indoor pools.
Harkány Beach and Spa is also a very popular destination for family holidays. This is partly due to the Mediterranean climate, as the sun shines for about 2200 hours a year in the Hungarian spa town. The very sulphurous thermal water itself, which is particularly effective for rheumatic diseases, is used exclusively for therapeutic purposes in Bad Harkány. Thus, patients cannot swim in the healing pools, but sit on special benches in the water during the cure in order to inhale the gas-steam mixture that forms above the water surface. This allows the dissolved substances to have a particularly good effect on the body.
In addition to the healing pools, the bath complex has a large park area with an outdoor pool, children's pool and giant slide, sauna, whirlpool, massage pool, beauty salon and gastronomic facilities. in 2022, the new adventure spa and a children's paradise were opened.
In the spa department, various wellness and healing treatments complement the comprehensive range of therapies, where the harmony of body, soul and spirit is not neglected.
