The Casa dello Zio Alferio is tastefully and stylishly furnished, resembling a small museum with its artworks (living room), well-equipped (kitchen), and is not only beautifully located with its huge garden but also very close to the harbor, the small center of San Marco, and the Punta di Licosa nature reserve. The furniture in the two bedrooms is a bit dated, but it's okay. It disturbed us that we had to partially empty cabinets to store our clothes, and in the bathrooms, the owners' toothbrushes, etc., were not put away. Without being pedantic, the cleanliness in the kitchen and on the covered terrace left a lot to be desired this time. We first had to clean it ourselves. Regardless, we can truly recommend the Casa for the aforementioned reasons. The manager Gianni is very sympathetic, friendly, and helpful. San Marco is a quiet and picturesque little place, making it an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions. We have already enjoyed our third vacation here - apart from the mentioned points of criticism.

Overall, a very beautiful property in a great location with various seating options in the outdoor area, on the terraces, and in the large garden with additional loungers. The house itself has aged and needs renovation, for example, water comes through the ceiling in the living room. Inside, it actually resembles a small museum with many pictures and old books. The kitchen equipment is largely in order. But here too, it has aged and quite a bit has accumulated. When it comes to dinnerware, there is plenty to choose from. The beds were not good. Sleep quality was poor. The mattress of one bed was propped up with seat cushions. There were few to no surfaces for storage in both bedrooms. An ironing board provided some relief. Conclusion - despite the negative points, we would come here again, especially because of the surroundings and the beautiful, tranquil village of San Marco di Castellabate.
