Description
***Attention CORONA-News / Status 14.4.23: There are no more travel restrictions or verification requirements for Italy, masks are only required in health facilities, only Covid sufferers have to follow 5 days of "self-monitoring" (limit activities, masks required indoors in public). We are back for you since 15 Feb, and hardcoristi: take note of the crunchy discount - bella Italia! ***
Take the chance now: Sustainable tour, trekking, course or just overnight offer at Posto Tra Monti e Mare! There, 20 serpentine kilometres north of San Remo, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Maritime Alps, buzzwords like alternative living, self-determination, gentle tourism, deceleration, slow food or ecological economy have become vivid practice. Those who, for example, are on an Alpine tour along the GTA from the southern 3000-metre peaks to the Mediterranean coast or are currently cycling down the Ligurian Alpine arc on a mountain bike can see this for themselves, as can groups or individual travellers who have dropped by for booked tours or stays in a mattress camp or a cosy holiday home. Or for combinations of all these: a 3-day workshop can be combined with a short herb and chestnut tour, cultural walks in the footsteps of partisans, witches or nomads, a trek up the 3000-metre peaks and, of course, enough free days to create a demanding, nature-oriented annual holiday in stimulating surroundings.
For our visitors there are, widely spread over 7 terraces, a charming summer house (to which the occupancy calendar here refers), a 12-person mattress camp and romantic tent sites available - but be careful: everything is on the simplest and most natural level, rustic, as befits the land, the people, Liguria and an earth consumption reduced to 0.9 planets. Because this is also at the centre of the needs of our holiday home guests: to experience, hike and enjoy local culture, rural way of life, real traditions of the local people and the dynamics of history in the present and for the future in a completely climate-neutral way in everyday practice - beyond meditation and book knowledge, with sun sails, free showers and compost toilets, soon with real donkeys, in any case already with chickens etc.: At Posto TMM, competently accompanied, change perspectives, broaden horizons with joy and take home lasting inspiration.
Vignai is located about 20 km north of San Remo at an altitude of 800 metres. There are many ways to reach Posto TMM: either from France via Nice and San Remo to Baiardo (bus from San Remo) or from Genoa/Savona to just before San Remo, namely to Taggia and from there (also possible by bus) to Badalucco or to the turn-off towards Monte Ceppo 2 km before. Those who do not arrive by car (parking spaces are available at the bottom of the road) will have to continue on foot, by bike or by hitchhiking from Baiardo or Badalucco or the turn-off at the latest. We are happy to organise a pick-up service for a corresponding surcharge and if you book in advance.
Our own favourite route to Vignai comes from the Alps and takes the 29-euro night train from Frankfurt/M. to Milan (in the meantime, other Nightline connections have to do), then to Cuneo and from there with the historic Tenda railway over the pass of the same name into the French Roya Valley. Arriving in the early afternoon, we climb directly from La Brigue over the Crete du Rionard to the Italian side, stay overnight at the Rifugio Allavena (CAI) and arrive early the next day; alternatively, if time or fitness are not sufficient, we stay overnight at the Gite de Bergiron after getting off the train in Saorge and do a full-day hike from there to Vignai the next day. Of course, you can also reach Vignai directly from Cuneo on a series of small roads - but only by bike. By car or moped, you would take the Direttissima from the north via Mondovi/Ceva and then Garessio, Ormea, Pieve di Teco and Carpasio. Vignai belongs to the commune of Baiardo (Bajardo) and is located about 9 km east of the main town on the municipal boundary with the commune of Badalucco (about 14 more kilometres of road). There are, of course, varied footpaths to both places, which take about 2 hours each through this graceful and rather lonely landscape. The Oxentina Valley is considered the most beautiful and unspoilt side valley of the Argentina region and has hardly any traffic and no bus connection from Baiardo in the west to the turn-off onto the provincial road to Badalucco in the east.
Countless half-day, full-day and multi-day tours are possible in all directions: to the beach, into the high mountains, in the footsteps of partisans and witches, Brigasian nomads, squatters and contemporary artists, but also local ways of life, cooking and handicrafts.

By bike or car would wind from the north of the Direttissima Mondovi / Ceva and then Garessio, Ormea, Rezzo. Vignai belongs to the municipality Baiardo (Bajardo) and is located about 9 km east of the main town on the border of the district municipality of Badalucco (about 14 road miles). At both locations there are also varied footpaths that lead into each of about 2 hours through this graceful and rather lonely landscape. The Oxentina Valley is considered the finest and most original side of the Argentina area and has Baiardo from the west to the junction on the main road to the east Badalucco little traffic and no bus service. There are numerous half-, and multi-day tours in all directions: to the beach, the mountains, in the footsteps of partisans and witches, brigaskischen nomads, squatters and contemporary artists, but also local food, cooking and handicrafts. Advice by the landlord
rental deposit: | 90 € at time of booking |

additional information about rental price:
The summer house is always booked for full weeks. However, extensions by the day are possible for €40 daily if necessary. From mid-October there is a low season rate for autumnal hikers and in early spring a crispness discount (with only a 4-night minimum stay), with which we honour the adventurous spirit of more rustic natures, because shorter days and cooler nights are then, at 800m at the pulse of nature, also in Liguria, nothing for too frosty guests. The automatically displayed low price of the equivalent of €33 per day refers precisely to these special offer weeks. The regular weekly rate is € 264. Regardless of this, there are usually places available in the mattress camp or on the tent site for even more radically rustic hikers: at 16.50 € (ML) or 7.70 € (ZP) per night and nose. The campsite is usually closed from 15 December to 15 February. |
Cancellation terms:
Stornierung. Alles andere evtl. schon Gezahlte gibt's natürlich in jedem Fall und zeitnah zurück.
additional information:
Basically, our guests are in the middle of a self-determined subsistence-oriented private household in the old Ligurian way (and under the conditions of the 21st century). Similar to youth hostels, within the framework of AGRÖK we have also constituted ourselves as an "association for the promotion of agro-ecological thinking, action and management worldwide", so that guests pay membership fees or association donations.
