Description
**Hammarvik House 1**
Hammarvik House 1 was originally built in 1900 and was taken over by my grandparents in 1963.
Between 2005 and 2015, significant improvements were made to Hammarvik, including the construction of a new access road and the development of a modern marina. The house itself was renovated again in 2025, with a brand-new kitchen and living room. A new bathroom and toilet were also installed on the second floor.
The house is equipped with a heat pump as well as a wood-burning stove, providing extra comfort during colder days.
From the veranda, you can enjoy beautiful views of the sea. On calm mornings, when the water is often completely still, you may occasionally hear the harbor porpoise ("Nise") coming to the surface to breathe – a truly fascinating experience.
The house has high-speed fiber-optic internet and offers all the modern conveniences you are accustomed to at home, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay.

**Fishing at Hammarvik**
Hammarvik is located in Aursundet, a strait that forms an extension of the Trondheimsleia. Aursundet reaches depths of up to 150 meters, and its varied seabed structure provides excellent fishing opportunities.
Even in poor weather conditions, especially during southwesterly winds, you still have a very good chance of catching fish here. When the weather is favorable, be sure to explore the nearby and highly productive Trondheimsleia. The waters between Hitra, Smøla, and the mainland are well known and highly regarded among experienced Norwegian sport anglers for their excellent fishing.
From early July through September, species such as ling, tusk, and hake are particularly abundant. Hake thrives in these waters and is considered a first-class sport fish. During this period, large schools of hake move through the coastal waters. A strip of mackerel fished at depths between 85 and 120 meters is often all that is needed, and you usually do not have to wait long for the first bite.
These intelligent predators can, however, be extremely cautious. Anglers who do not fish with full concentration may easily miss the brief and subtle strike.
For those who prefer shallower waters, Trondheimsleia offers countless sounds, channels, and bays with excellent fishing opportunities. Cod, saithe, and haddock are all commonly found here. Even halibut are now being caught regularly, often in impressive sizes.
**Welcome to Hammarvik – where excellent fishing opportunities await in all weather conditions.**

Mr. N. Årsund
Hello, I started renting out accommodations to fishing tourists in 2018. At that time, I only had one house – the white house shown in the pictures. It quickly became clear that there was great interest in Hammarvik Feriehus, mainly because of its unique location, which is well sheltered from southwesterly winds. Even when there are strong southwesterly winds, it is still possible to fish throughout the entire Aursundet area. As the demand continued to grow, I built two additional houses in 2020 in order to accommodate more guests. Best regards, Nils Ivar Årsund
