Description
The apartment (approx. 60m ²), consisting of living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, is located in a private quarter of the Quinta dos Pavoes, with a private entrance and covered terrace with outdoor dining, situated in front of a shared access natural lake. The bedroom features nice natural light and leads directly onto a Moorish style courtyard. This apartment is perfect for 2-4people, and a cot can be put in place for no extra charge. Upon request, well behaved pets are welcome. Wifi, television, barbeque and in winter a wood-fired heater are all available.

Location and surroundings of object
Quinta dos Pavoes is situated at the top of a wide valley between the villages of Arao and Pereira, around 20 minutes drive from the beaches, markets and cafes of Lagos and Portimao. Also, the closest village is Mexillhoeira-Grande, a beautiful and typical village of the region, which offers an insight into the culture of the Algarve, with mini-markets and cafes also. For those who are hiking enthusiasts there are both self-guided and duided tours available in the close-bz Monchique Mountains, and also hiking to the "Barragem de Bravura". The wild Western beaches of the Algarve/Alentejo coastline can also be reached in half an hour, for those wanting a surf.
The location of the Quinta is such that it offers a beautiful contrast between the landscapes of both sandy beaches and rolling valleys with natural swimming holes, amidst a property that offers a sense of tranquility after a long day of exploring, or simply relaxing by our own natural barragem, with a small sandy beach.

At home in the QdP
My partner and I spent almost 7 weeks at the QdP with our little daughter (10 months on arrival, 12 on departure) and felt very much at home here very quickly
The holiday flat is so well equipped that you really don't want for anything, and if something should be missing, Martina and Peter immediately come to the rescue with good ideas and manual dexterity. Martina and Peter are really wonderful people and hosts - we always felt very welcome. The whole area around the QdP is like a little oasis. In the evening there are wonderful frog concerts. For relaxation at the weekend, we can also highly recommend the massages offered there by Rute
During our stay, we were visited by family and friends who rented the flat right next door. Our visitors were also very happy to spend time with us in this beautiful place
We will certainly return to QdP again, but then with the whole family
The holiday flats are really so well equipped that you can stay here for several weeks/months :-). The beds (mattresses) are very comfortable and not at all sleepless, as is often the case in other accommodation
For our little daughter we were provided with a baby cot, high chair and a small paddling pool. There is also a playground with a baby swing on the premises. In our opinion, the QdP is the perfect place for a longer stay (e.g. parental leave/sabbatical)

It was hard to say goodbye
A wonderful holiday flat with great kitchen facilities, which we particularly enjoyed as we love to cook. The flat is very appealing and spacious. Even though the sun did not shine every day, we were able to enjoy the day on the large terrace. The surrounding garden and the spacious grounds invite you to linger. We really appreciated the tranquillity of this place
Martina and Peter are two helpful and attentive hosts. We felt welcome at all times. We will gladly return again. Many thanks to both of you. Annette and Rainer

An unforgettable period of life
We spent a sabbatical of 5 months with Martina and Peter. We could not have found a more suitable place to relax or better hosts. They are simply great: hospitable (their doors were always "open"), helpful and humorous. We had paradise on earth.
The flat is furnished with much love and very tastefully and the property is a dream. In the morning we could already watch animals from our bed: many different birds, a chicken, cats...and afterwards swim in the lake. On the way to Meia Praia beach, about 15 minutes away, where we had a long walk and early morning exercise almost every day, we could watch animals again: Sheep, goats, cows, horses, donkeys...simply beautiful!
Another highlight for us was that we were supplied by daughter-in-law Jovita with freshly harvested fruit, vegetables, eggs and meat from her own organic farm, which we appreciated very much.
In about 45 minutes you can reach dream beaches like we have never seen before, such as Praia da Amoreira, Praia do Bordeira and Praia Castelejo
We really recovered well, will live off this stay for a long time and are very grateful for this wonderful time!

A little paradise
Away from the hustle and bustle, in the middle of nature, but also quickly back in the city or on the beach. A small paradise that leaves nothing to be desired.

Dreamlike
While looking for accommodation in Portugal, away from the tourist centres, we came across this little oasis and had a wonderful time there
The flat is beautifully located, the grounds are well maintained and there was really nothing missing. Barbecue, sunbeds, kitchen equipment completely...
In the morning you wake up to birdsong, and in the evening you can listen to frogs singing on the beautiful terrace. The private reservoir invites you to swim or splash around, from the small sandy beach you can also observe the lake inhabitants very well (turtles, for example) or just relax.
For excursions to the beaches and places in the surrounding area, you need a car, but the distances are relatively short in all directions (15-20 minutes to Lagos, for example)
For us, one thing is clear: we will definitely come back.
