A spacious, light, modern comfortable villa with its own private heated swimming pool in the sunny Languedoc-Roussillon region of the South of France. The villa is in a quiet residential area near the edge of the village of Laroque des Alberes, with views of the mountains, the old fort in Laroque and over the plain towards the sea. The historic centre of the village is a picturesque short walk away. Laroque has village shops - a small supermarket, tabac, bakeries, butcher, chemist - several bars and restaurants and a pizza takeaway and a small weekly market. A larger supermarket is a few minutes drive away.
Ideal for families to relax by the pool, or take a short (10min) drive to the sandy Mediterranean beaches. For hikers and walkers the Alberes hills are on the doorstep.

Modern holiday villa with private heated pool in South of France for self-catering holiday rental. It sleeps up to 6, with pool, enclosed garden and great views. In a peaceful location in the pretty Catalan village of Laroque des Alberes, near Perpignan, the Pyrenees and long sandy Mediterranean beaches.
The fully equipped kitchen has been newly refitted and has oven, microwave, electric hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, kettle and toaster and cupboard space. The washing machine, iron & ironing board etc is in a separate room. Between the kitchen and the dining area is a granite breakfast bar, with additional bar-stool seating.
The dining area has a dining table with seating for 8 people, and a storage unit containing the crockery and cutlery, and also a selection of books, DVDs, games etc. Patio doors lead to the terraces, garden and pool.
The lounge has comfortable sofas and arm chairs, television (with French & English channels) and DVD player. For winter there is a cosy log burning stove.
The downstairs double bedroom, with king-size double bed (160cm), has french windows to the garden and a large en suite shower room with enclosed shower cubicle, basin, bidet and WC.
There is also a separate WC downstairs, off the hallway.
Upstairs is a (double aspect) double bedroom with king-size double bed (160cm) and patio doors to a jasmine-covered balcony with lovely views of the Alberes Hills, Mount Canigou in the Pyrenees and across the plain towards the sea.
The twin bedroom is upstairs and overlooks the pool with views of the old village, the Alberes hills and across the plain to the sea.
The family bathroom is also upstairs and has bath with shower over, basin, bidet and WC.

The historic centre of the village is a picturesque short walk away from the villa, and has an old fort, church and winding narrow streets dating from mediaeval times. Laroque has a helpful tourist office and village shops - a small supermarket, tabac, post office, bakeries, butcher, chemist - several bars and restaurants and a pizza takeaway and a small weekly market. A larger supermarket is a few minutes drive away.
The village is located at the foothills of the Alberes hills, with great views, and is a great place to start hill walks and mountain biking.
Laroque is 10km from the lively seaside resort of Argeles with kilometres of wide sandy Mediterranean beaches.

Hello, With my husband I bought our villa in the south of France in 2007. We are English and live in England and visit the house as often as possible. We have made the house comfortable, with a heated pool and air conditioning, and we enjoy the great weather, views, beaches and restaurants. When we can't be there, we rent out the house so other families can have great holidays too. Sincerely
