A beautiful ambience in the living room invites you to

Information about Lonau and its surroundings:
A warm welcome to our little mountain village Lonau with its
historic houses and a charming little church.
In the immediate vicinity of your family-friendly holiday domicile " Kaminzauber"
in the middle of Lonau, there is a children's playground and a mini-golf course.
It only takes a few steps to reach the nearby forest to finally breathe fresh air again.
Flora and fauna are as fascinating as ever. On the trails around Lonau you will find the capercaillie viewing enclosure,
a water treading area and a forest swimming pool with adjacent camping site.
For more extensive hikes, you start right at the front door.
The path to the Hanskühnenburgbaude is approx. 7 km long and very attractive
Hanskühnenburgbaude at 811 m above sea level.
The Großer Knollen at 687 m above sea level is also
can be reached after about 9 km through picturesque beech forests.
By car!
The over 950-year-old Guelph Castle is located in the residential town of Herzberg am Harz, 3 km away.
The same applies to the idyllically situated Juessee lake in the centre of the town.
The lake invites you to swim, fish, dive or go for a walk.
The district town of Osterode am Harz can be reached in about 10 minutes by car.
Every Saturday you will find a colourful weekly market there with really nice offers from the region.
The state-recognised Kneipp spa Bad Lauterberg is also only about 15 minutes away by car.
The main street with its many shops
Shops invites you to go shopping and linger.

One of the destinations could be the Brocken, which for about 2 million visitors annually,
is the first place to go. Its summit towers over all the other surrounding mountains.
From it, you can enjoy a wide view of the Harz foothills.
Another sight is the typical and unique Harz narrow-gauge railway.
On the 1-metre wide and 140-kilometre long track
some rail vehicles from the 19th century are still in operation today.

Family short break
We were guests in the Heuerblick house in Lonau from 29.12.22-01.01.23 with Mrs Sievers.
It was a very nice time in the Harz, we didn't miss anything. The accommodation was tip top.

The surrounding area is ideal for hiking, as Lonau is a very beautiful and quiet place.
There is everything you need in the immediate vicinity, even for children.
As this was a successful family short break we would definitely recommend this.
