Description

Enjoy your holiday in the beautiful and wooded Ederbergland, together with your four-legged friend(s) in my lovingly and comfortably furnished, single-storey holiday home for 2-4 people in close-to-nature surroundings. It is surrounded by a completely fenced (1.5 m), escape-proof garden and offers you optimal conditions for an uncomplicated "holiday with dog".

Arrive, feel comfortable and enjoy ... on the sunny south-facing terrace with terrace furniture for 4 people, sun lounger, parasol and gas barbecue as well as extra water connection for the 4-legged friends, or behind the house in the garden, also accessible from the house via the small conservatory, cosy with terrace furniture under tall trees, which provide you with enough pleasant shade in summer and invite you to linger. The entrance area up to the front door was paved and newly laid out in summer 2018.

A large, natural area (approx. 600 m²) with meadows and a small wood, also fenced and separated from the house garden by a garden door, may also be used by guests and their fur noses as a play and training area. A beautiful and stress-free holiday awaits you when your dogs can run and romp everywhere without a leash. Up to 3 dogs are allowed (exceptions possible by arrangement), the four-legged friends travel free of charge and are very welcome.

The property includes a large, newly built parking space directly in front of the entrance gate, with room for two cars. If you bring a trailer, it can also be parked on the property.

I will be happy to provide you with maps and my personal tips for wonderful km-long hikes, e.g. also on the well-known Ederhöhenweg, directly from the garden gate

Visiting the bathing places for the fur noses on the Eder, where you can also partly swim together with the dogs, excursions to the Edersee, visiting the game park in Willingen (also with dogs), exploring the historic old town of Marburg or snow hiking in the cold season in Winterberg or on the Kahler Asten (842 m high) are just some of the many other possibilities for a relaxing break from everyday stress.

WLAN is available free of charge. If you don't always want to cook - a delivery service for delicious food makes it possible
All kinds of dog accessories are available free of charge

100% free cancellation in case of official Corona restrictions.

The satisfaction of our guests shows me that I have chosen the right way.
DOG HAPPY - EVERYONE HAPPY .

I look forward to your stay, a holiday in the Upper Eder Valley is simply recommendable at any time of the year!

Location and surroundings of object

The detached "Ferienhaus-im-Bambuswald" (holiday home in the bamboo forest) is located in the middle of greenery and directly on the edge of the forest in the Laisa district

Laisa is located in the holiday region of Ederbergland and is a district of Battenberg/Eder, also called "Bergstadt im Walde" (mountain town in the forest), in the north Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg.

Laisa was first mentioned in 778 as "Lihesi" in connection with a battle between the Franks and Saxons. The village itself lies 370 m above sea level and has about 580 inhabitants

The Ederbergland holiday region lies on the southern slopes of the Sauerland, bordering the Kellerwald Edersee National Park in the middle of Germany.
The transition from the Ederbergland to the Sauerland is fluid. The unique Edersee and the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park with its adventure trails or Waldeck Castle are just 35 km away, and Winterberg and a few kilometres further the Kahle Asten, Willingen (popular with winter sports fans) or the university town of Marburg with its beautiful old town are just as easy to reach as Bad Wildungen.

The Sackpfeife, a 673.5 m high mountain in the Rothaargebirge on the border of the districts of Waldeck-Frankenberg and Marburg-Biedenkopf in Hesse, or beautiful tours through the Burgwald with its extensive deciduous and mixed forests up to the Christenberg, an old Kesterburg, are also nearby.

Beautiful garden - but very loud due to the federal road and very cramped in the house.

We have now been in the bamboo forest for a week - small summary:
In the middle of greenery? - B 253 directly by the house, enormous noise disturbance! So better check on Google Maps beforehand and not rely on the description.
Completely fenced garden? For large dogs, sure, for smaller or slender ones, not. Luckily, we were able to secure the danger area with an additional wire fence.
In the house: bedroom without a wardrobe and nightstand - no storage space. Only wardrobe in the children's room. Spaces very cramped, hardly any storage options in the kitchen. Cabinets under the sink and in the bathroom full of cleaning supplies, also no possibility to store personal items. Refrigerator was just turned on upon arrival, so not cold. This was not nice for the refrigerated goods brought along with outside temperatures of 30 degrees. After all, money is still being charged daily for water/electricity. Parking in front of the entrance for 2 cars is possible, but not advisable. The entrance is intended for only 1 car, and the one parking space is under a heavily resinous conifer, which now brings me a lot of effort to remove all the sticky residues. A car wash conducted right away definitely could not eliminate the marks. I then parked a few streets away. Perhaps one should point this out, as not everyone wants a dirty, sticky car. Moreover, it is meticulously ensured that the dogs, among others. do not shear under the bamboo bush (no holes dug!) and immediately pointed out that order will be restored with hoe and broom. The feces from one's own dog, however, is disposed of between the bushes next to the seating area behind the house. For private celebrations, garden chairs, umbrella, glasses, dishes, cushions, coffee machine were brought from the holiday home. At least the coffee machine returned quickly after an objection. Conclusion: high demands on guests, customer service has room for improvement and maybe. "Think about criticism and don't dismiss it right away. It serves the optimization."

Answer from Mrs. U. Eckhardt:

Ute Eckhardt

Cozy cottage

A cozy small house equipped with many comforts. Kitchen excellently equipped, good beds and the fireplace makes it wonderfully warm. The conservatory is not heated and therefore not suitable for sitting in cold weather. Beautiful walks from the door. The cottage is located right next to a busy road and causes noise nuisance, therefore a lower score for the location. Very friendly owner, lots of privacy.

recommend for: seniors, holiday with children, holiday with pet, cultural and sightseeing holiday

Mrs. U. Eckhardt

I have had dogs myself for many years, at the moment 2 Wäller, which I also breed, and was often unsuccessful in my search for suitable holiday accommodation for us and the 3 pelt-noses. 5 years ago, due to a new life situation, the opportunity arose to acquire a wooden house for these purposes. After a thorough renovation, conversion to a holiday home and after the outdoor area also met my requirements for a relaxing "holiday with dog", the rental started in mid-2017... ... and it is a lot of fun for me to enable nice people and their dogs to have a nice holiday. I am a host with heart and soul and I am happy when the fur noses and their leash carriers, small and big, old and young guests, feel good and like to come back. Their satisfaction confirms it to me again and again - so I did everything right. : DOG HAPPY - EVERYONE HAPPY .
