Description

Our stylish vacation home is located in the hiking village and climatic health resort Puchberg am Schneeberg at about 600m above sea level.

It has three bedrooms (1-6 people), two with double beds and one with two single beds, and a 30 sqm sun terrace with a wonderful view of the Schneeberg. A living and dining area, a kitchen with extensive equipment, and two modern bathrooms make the house a place of enjoyment and relaxation. All rooms are comfortably furnished with attention to detail. The house has 130m2.

Countless easy hiking trails and high mountain tours are directly in front of the door, as well as since the 19th century, Austria's longest cog railway, which still takes you to the peak with steam locomotives today. Minimum rental period: 7 nights; Preferred arrival or departure day is a Saturday.

Quaint mountain huts invite you to linger, and gourmets will delight in excellent Austrian cuisine at local inns, award-winning restaurants, or at a Heuriger in the famous wine town of Gumpoldskirchen.

Supermarkets, bakeries, a pharmacy, an outdoor pool, butchers, and doctors are located in the immediate vicinity. Arrival is also possible by train to Puchberg; Vienna airport is only an hour away, and rental cars are available from about €180/week with timely booking.

Families with children and recreational athletes will enjoy mountain climbing, mountain biking, mountain carts, climbing, sailing, skiing, ski courses, hang-gliding, or Puchi's children's land. With the Lower Austria Card for €63/€35, get free admission to 300 excursion destinations worth €2,700, valid for the entire season! Many personalities have talked about this place: Emperor Franz Josef spent much time here hunting and with his family. Sigmund Freud once hiked on the Rax through Thörlweg. Arthur Schnitzler fell in love at the Thalhof with the innkeeper Olga Waissnix, and Stefan Zweig captured the Fin de Siècle atmosphere of the imperial era in the novel "Burning Secret" at the Grandhotel Panhans on the Semmering. Rudolf Steiner created memories of his childhood in this beautiful region. Marvel at the Semmering Railway, the first mountain railway in Europe from 1854 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the book "K. u. K. summer resorts," historic places of longing are recalled, where not only the world of princes and artists found relaxation. To the longing destination Schneeberg: Reichenau Puchberg Payerbach" called Puchberg at the turn of the century as "Austria's Chamonix," and Reichenau/Payerbach rose to become one of the noble summer resorts of the Monarchy. Outstanding in all respects

We, four adults and two dogs, were in this wonderful house for a week in September 25 for hiking and relaxing. Directly from the house, there is the possibility to take various tours. Depending on taste, easy, medium, or even difficult tours, or shorter and also longer ones. The house itself is located about 1 km outside of Puchberg in a small very quiet settlement. It is very cozy and well-equipped, everything is clean and has a large terrace where you can unwind and relax after a strenuous hike. There are plenty of shopping options in Puchberg and also very good dining. However, for those who prefer to eat in the countryside, there are already very good restaurants and hotel restaurants just 5 to 6 km away. And what must be mentioned is the extremely friendly owner. Get in touch and you will be helped with advice and action.
We all felt very comfortable and the dogs enjoyed it too. Due to the quiet location, it is also ideal for dogs.
We can definitely recommend this holiday home with the best knowledge and conscience. It leaves nothing to be desired.

Beautiful retreat

A totally sympathetic landlord, always reachable for various inquiries.
A super equipped accommodation - you can tell that the landlord also likes to vacation here, it is lovingly furnished and comprehensively equipped.
We - a family of 4 - were here for a week together with grandparents and had enough space and retreat due to the good layout of the house, including the large terrace.
The surroundings offer a lot for active nature lovers. The swimming pool in Puchberg is small but full of charm and totally great for very hot days.
We are planning to come again, as everything worked out very well!

Pure relaxation....

We spent a wonderful time in this well-equipped holiday home.

The evenings by the stove will stay in our memories for a long time. The bathtub in the upper floor bedroom is another highlight that we also found very beautiful.

Despite the terrible weather, we had a wonderful vacation in the house.

It's also worth mentioning the super helpful and friendly neighborhood.

A wonderful vacation

We were on vacation together as a family for the first time. My son, who is from Vietnam, really enjoyed it, he was able to discover a lot of new things. The surroundings are fantastic and we simply had a great time. The incredibly lovingly furnished accommodation plays a big role in this. Sometimes we started our excursions later because the accommodation was so great and cozy. Highly recommended! Also, the nice and helpful contact with the landlord. Please go there! ;)

You can also have luck sometimes :-)

We booked Mr. Klement's holiday home very spontaneously. Accordingly, we were not very well prepared.
We chose it on Friday evening and immediately booked it on Saturday morning after a detailed conversation with Mr. Klement.
It all sounded too good to be true to me.
But Mr. Klement did not promise too much.
The holiday home is simply great. We arrived and immediately felt at home.
The kitchen is very well equipped, which was great for me as I have to prepare most of my meals myself.
Salad spinner, sharp knives, good pots and pans, kitchen scale, immersion blender, mixer. Enough dishes and cups.
We didn't miss anything.
There was even a freezer for dog food.
The terrace was also great and cozy with a view of the Snowberg.
And then there were the many great tips from Mr. Klement. So we were able to plan our spontaneous vacation with no preparation.
Even the days we stayed in the house to rest were great, as there are plenty of opportunities to make yourself comfortable.
The location of the house is tip top. There is not much traffic and excursion destinations are also easy to reach.

Recovery time is guaranteed!

Our holidays were very nice! The house is in a great location for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. With children, you can discover some animals in the village and the brook invites you to play. The equipment in the house is perfect and leaves nothing to be desired. Puchberg and the surrounding area are beautiful. You can experience a lot and all the people were very friendly. All in all, highly recommended!

Time out from city life

We enjoyed a longer break in January (3 weeks) from city life and were very satisfied. Peter was/is a very caring host and did not promise too much. The house with a view of the Schneeberg is very spacious (you have plenty of room), and very tastefully furnished. Bathtub, TV... everything like at home ... you feel at home right away! The kitchen is very well equipped - you could even bake a quick cake :-)

The terrace is also very big... in summer you can stay here more often/longer than in winter. A small footpath leading away from the house towards Schneeberg is ideal for walks, past a small farm, and paddocks where you can also say hello to cows, sheep, horses and goats ;-) The dog was also welcome for a small fee. Thank you very much for the pleasant time out!

Dreamy autumn in Puchberg

We have rarely felt so comfortable & are very happy to have found this gem

Peter is the best host we have experienced so far - incredibly helpful & always available. His numerous tips have given us a great time.

We spent 3 weeks in beautiful Puchberg & were thrilled with the location of the house: we were able to start a variety of our hikes right from the front door, explored many surrounding huts & enjoyed the hearty gastronomy. The place is very well connected by train & has everything you need for everyday life (because we also worked from there).

We wanted for nothing & will always remember this wonderful time with a smile.

Highly recommended!

I can only agree with the previous reviews: the house is exactly as described; clean and comfortably furnished so that you really want for nothing. The large, sunny terrace with a view of the mountains is especially nice when the weather is nice.
The landlord is very keen to make your stay as pleasant as possible and is always very accessible and happy to give tips for possible activities.
The surrounding area is ideal for various hiking tours, but there are also good alternatives for non-hikers or bad weather.
The gastronomic offer (mostly Austrian cuisine) is also good.

We will definitely be back!

Holiday in the Schneebergdomizil

The house is very tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday: a beautiful terrace, deck chairs, barbecue, an oven in the living room, a perfectly equipped kitchen. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the Schneeberg, and there are plenty of hiking trails with good places to stop for refreshments. We enjoyed our stay very much!

A super nice holiday home

We had a fantastic vacation in a beautiful, quiet area. There are great excursions for young and old. Perfect in combination with the Lower Austria Card. The landlord made every effort to have everything we wanted on site, we even received 2 packages during the holiday period and easily extended a night.
It was simply amazing there, very nice people and there is also a quick connection to supermarkets, bakeries, butchers and other various shops.
The tourism office was very dedicated and despite Corona measures and frequent tests, everything went quickly and relaxed everywhere.
If we lived closer, we would have come back very soon.
