We would be delighted to welcome you to our Nordic style holiday home.
It is a 24sqm wooden house, which is situated on our property behind our vegetable garden, surrounded by fir trees. The wide view to the south through the large terrace door brings a lot of peace. A terrace invites you to have breakfast in the morning sun
It is a non-smoking house, pets are not allowed. Unfortunately not suitable for people with walking difficulties due to the raised entrance area and sleeping loft.
The house itself consists of a living room with a cosy corner sofa and a dining area. The Smart TV and Wi-Fi are a bridge for rainy days. The small kitchenette has 2 hot plates, a sink and a fridge with freezer compartment. Coffee maker, toaster, kettle and sufficient dishes invite you to prepare small meals. The sleeping loft can be reached via an easily accessible staircase. It has good mattresses, sufficient light and a small window with flyscreen for ventilation. The mattresses can also be stored differently than shown in the pictures. The view from above over the fruit trees and further towards the field and meadow is fantastic. Through a small hallway you enter the small bathroom with shower cabin and toilet. The whole house has electric heating. A separate parking space for guests is available.
There are 2 restaurants in the village. There are enough bathing possibilities in the nearer and further area. There are many possibilities for hiking and cycling tours. Explore the surrounding villages with their old churches, interesting historic buildings and artisans of various genres.
Highly recommended for a short trip is Sternberg with its town wall, church, town centre and Lake Sternberg with boat hire. Or simply rent a canoe and take a tour on the Mildenitz and Warnow rivers through the Warnow breakthrough valley; a very nice experience. The Slavic, originally reconstructed castle rampart in Groß Raden, including a museum, is a destination not to be missed, as is the camel farm in Sternberger Burg.
If you would like to make a day trip: Güstrow, the state capital Schwerin and the Hanseatic cities of Wismar and Rostock are easily reached in 30 to 60 minutes. Güstrow is the Barlach town with several museums and the Floating in the Cathedral. A Renaissance castle, the nature and environmental park, the Inselsee lake and a fun swimming pool invite you to visit. The castle, the old town, the inner and outer lake with passenger boats, the zoo and various museums in Schwerin are also worth a visit. Wismar and Rostock, the gates to the world, lie on the Baltic Sea. Not much more needs to be said about this; pure bathing fun on the white beach, harbour tours, strolling along the promenade, eating ice cream and exploring the towns, it's simply fun.
If you just want to relax in the cottage, there are some games available. There is a table and chairs for the terrace. If you want to barbecue, we are happy to provide our charcoal barbecue. In the garden you can usually harvest some organic herbs to refine your meal. In high summer there are sometimes a few courgettes left over.
The hosts are happy to help or advise on request. We find a solution for many things.

Witzin is located on the B104 between Güstrow and Sternberg. The landlord's house is directly on the B104, the holiday cottage is 50 m further back in the middle of the quiet garden. The best way to get there is by car.

Great short vacation opportunity
The little house is very clean and tidy and equipped with everything you need. The sleeping arrangement pleasantly surprised us. We had our doubts about climbing up the stairs as we are over 60. Everything is well thought out, simply great. The landlords are very nice, friendly, and attentive.

Very warmly..
We were received very nicely and warmly. The small but lovingly furnished house offers everything you need. A real little idyll. The village of Witzin is beautifully situated among many excursion destinations, but far away from crowds. Schwerin, Sternberg, and Güstrow are not far away. Day trips to Rostock, Wismar, Kühlungsborn, etc. are also possible without long car journeys. It was just great. We would love to come back.

Cosy holiday cottage
We had beautiful days with Ulf and Dörte. Two lovely, open-minded people. We were welcomed with a colorful bouquet of self-picked flowers on the garden table. The holiday cottage is furnished in Norwegian style with attention to detail. (Everything is clean) The garden is beautiful and big. Thank you for your hospitality! Thomas and Sarah

Very pleasant, cozy inn.
We really liked the friendly and warm hospitality. The accommodation was very well maintained, cozy, and equipped with everything. We didn't even miss having a toaster. There was a refrigerator and a stove with hotplates. Cozy and peaceful for relaxation. We could sit in the garden and have breakfast, highly recommended!!!

We are a nature-loving couple who enjoy hiking and live on an 1800 sqm plot with a self-catering garden directly on the B 104. The wooden cottage is further away, however, so that the road noise does not play a major role. Since our 4 children have moved out and I(Dörte) have finished my job as a nurse since July, we want to share our little paradise with others. My husband Ulf (carpenter) has been retired for 2 years Besides our paradisiacal Mecklenburg home, we also love Norway and have spent many camping holidays there with our children, hence the photo. In the meantime, we have also learned the language. One of our children now lives there and has taken over the redesign of the holiday home. Last winter we repainted the living area and the kitchen with colours from Norway and redecorated the living area. At Christmas, due to our house being overcrowded with children and grandchildren, we stayed there ourselves and felt very comfortable. We love having guests and meeting new people Our guests decide how much contact they want A warm welcome!
